when nas dropped illmatic. it was the best thing to come from the mecca of hiphop it was so great that made biggie made ready to die like illmatic and copied the same formula till diddy added the juicy samples and big poppa and one more chance so it won't be a hardcore underground album like illmatic . those three records captured the whole commercial pop market to big and solidified him as the best MC from both worlds the club anthems and the street poems.that's how jay-z style was given birth to which gave birth to all the hiphop dope boy swag braggadocio style.

when nas dropped it was written he invented the best style ever he combined the mafioso larger than life persona with the underground political and conscious rebel music.

when big dropped life after death he killed the whole game by making the most hardcore menacing music ever with the mafioso theme. his lyrics were spitted like watching a movie while he was still able to maintain the balance to make the best party dance music.

then Hov took over.that's why people argue who's the best MC biggie, Jay-z and nas.

Biggie is in my top three.. he's one of the best to ever do it.. Illmatic is one of my favorite Rap albums ever.. I can't choose..

I never heard about 8Ball influencing Biggie, so that's a coincidence in my eyes. Plus, Biggie referred to himself as being "fat and black" on one of his demo tape tracks from 91-92. It was either "Guaranteed Raw" or "Microphone Murderer."

And nosign on him being a better storyteller too..
