What the Bill Cosby Mistrial Tells Us About Power in America in 2017

I am conflicted with Cosby as a proponent of Black progress. While I fully recognize his entertainment and financial contributions to Blacks. "A different world" is\was and always will be my shit. I am having a hard time moving beyond his words in public forums. Some of his ideologies are in total contradiction of his efforts to assist Blacks.

With that said. I believe this has been a witch hunt. And any nigga that has ever smoked some herb or offered a woman alcohol with their intentions being to GTD needs to chill on the hypocrisy.

Cosby had been trying to buy NBC for decades...so why not try to bring him down in the 80s and 90s instead of 2017 when his health is failing to the point that he wouldnt have been running shit anyway?

You have a point in questioning why now instead at his height of career.

I look at it like this.

If they tried to bring Cosby down in the 80's early 90's that would've given him time to correct his image to many people over time.

By doing all this now with Cosby's age and health issues he doesn't have that time. Cosby's image now is forever shattered and NEVER will be what is was to black people and some people of all races. Cosby will never have the respect, good name and be celebrated the way he should after this shit show.

Mission accomplished tarnish a man's image and if he just so happens to die soon after all the better for the accusers. Those tarnish stains will NEVER be able to shined away by the truth coming to light or said man's good works to reshape his image.

Now a shining light to black people is looked at as a rapist only(never found guilty) regardless of all the great things that he has done and the proof behind those great things.

Like I said in this thread and all the other threads regarding these allegations. If they could prove he did it then so be it he gets what he gets. Until that happens I can't ever call Bill Cosby a rapist.

I also believe in addition to his failing health. This is the perfect time because, Cosby has ostracized himself from Black community, particularly the younger generation. I had this convo with Boss before, but I'll go deeper here. What Cosby said in his speech wasn't bad per say. He had a good message and he meant well. The issue is that we as black people don't have the same luxuries as white folks, they can say and do what they want. When you're a prominent figure speaking on a public forum you gotta walk that line. When you're black you have to pick and choose your words wisely, Cosby being an OG should've known better which led to white folks propping up his speech and cherry picked his words while pissing off black people.

Cosby can say some truth to his people but because white people twist his words and message then black people get mad at Cosby cause they let white people control the narrative and message.
