What Rapper has surprised you most with his longevity (or lack thereof)?

I promise you! i thought Ross was gonna be non-existent after Port Of Miami, Ross' longevity thus far is amazing. MMG>>>

As far as lack thereof, i thought Charles Hamilton was gonna have a great career, i thought he was going to be one of the breakout stars of his class of emcees. Brooklyn Girls and Writing In The Sky is still my shit though.

Im NEVER surprised when a Def Jam artist has longevity.

L.L. was with them from '85 to '08 with 11 Gold & Plat plaques for his solo albums.

I was surprised how quickly DMX crashed and burned.

Lauryn Hill is the #1 Hiphop tragedy as far as longevity.

As an artist with minimal talent as a rapper there is no reason why Diddy should have haad a 2X platinum single in 2010 but he did and he does it almost every year since he came in the game...surprisingly.

I would be foolish and an idiot to call Rozay's 5 year run something out of the ordinary when Souljah Boy came out a year after he did and is still making headlines.

I gotta say Wayne... when I was young I was CMR supporter and I lstened to Wayne's music but I was more privy to listen to Juvie or B.G. than Wayne. i thought Wayne wasnt gon be in the game long because I thought his image wasnt marketable considering his age. shit BG's Chopper City In The Ghetto was the first CMR cd I ever bought and I was riding with them ever since...and even though Wayne wasn't the best rapper then, it was clear that he had the most star potential when you heard him rap...all those lil sound effects he used to use in his verses to actually rhyme with words, when he actually rapped fast, stayed on topic a whole song...i knew Wayne was gonna be around after listening to the Hot Boys album...regardless if you think he's the "best" rapper or not Wayne has "It"...whatever "it" is that makes people pay attention he has it....
