you know how many people go through classim and confuse it with racism every day...it happens and trust me i'm well versed enough to know and speak on this topic...classism was the reaction by other whites to Eminem's lyrics...did Eminem choose the wrong word by saying racism when talking about his come up in hip-hop yes, it was more prejudice than racism, but to say it wasn't there at all is being willfully ignorant to blatant facts that exist in the world...and that is that when a white person does something normalyl associated with black people there will be black people who don't like them simply based on them being a white person trying to do something traditionally black...

In this case we are talking about 60 minutes who have editors and production staffs. This should never happen. However, that's not the slant they were going for. The slant they were going for was POOR white boy picked on by blacks who thought he wouldn't make it. But he slayed them all in underground rap battles to become the Elvis of Hip Hop. Stop with the Victim Jazz. Oh you just don't like HIM. I don't know the man not to like him. I don't care for his PRODUCT.

This is the ENTIRE POINT. Em was depicted as some tortured WHITE Kid who rose up to make it out of a predominately BLACK HOOD who went on to Make it in a Predominately Black Music. As if, to say his situation is\was some how unique when all 60 minutes did was regurgitate the story of 99% of Black rappers.

so are you mad that it was a white rapper being interviewed cuz they've had black rappers on 60 minutes beforet..all rappers talk about their past in the interview...and we're in America, the country that loves the story of the underdog who made it...everybody who has that story gets that shit pushed...Eminem isn't as special as you think in that aspect...

you really think every black fan of rap music who saw Third Base was open to white boys doing rap music...MC Search has spoken about how he had to fight extra hard for respect being a white MC, he's spoken on it plenty of times but when Eminem does it you get pissed...

Its the topic of the thread according to the T/S and the original post.

Its sick and foolish for a white rapper to cry reverse-racism when his career is successful as it is based on his skin-color,
Pharoah Monch isnt crying racism for his lack of record sales but we all know if he was white he'd sell twice as much just like Emenim said he'd sell half.

In the early 90's and late 80's Emenim was making racist rap songs.

3rd Base was well recieved within Hip Hop. Search even frequented the famous Latin Quarters if, it was that much of an issue he would be here to tell his story. So, again getting respect from labels for a deal is totally different then, getting in a cipher where EVERYONE had to EARN their respect as an MC.

I asked if you were mad i didn't assume..it's not an argument it's a question learn the difference...and at what point did I say Eminem was an "idol"...you want to keep it adult then have an actual conversation without attempts at insults or failed attempts at talking down to somebody...Eminem did an interview, was asked questions that ALL entertainers get asked, and you seem to be upset about his answers...what did you want him to say...that there was never a black person that said "you shouldn't rap cuz you're white Marshall"...if that happened to that man and it affected him then he can speak on that...the mere fact that you seemingly can't acknowledge that could happen and has happened to white people who inject themselves into predominately black things speaks more to your ignorance than anything else...

well received doesn't mean "received by all"...Eminem has also been well received but he said not everybody welcomed a white rapper with open arms...if that is hard for you to understand then you're just choosing to be closed minded...you don't even have to agree but to deny the possibility of it happening is just stupid

The industry wasnt saying that shit, and the record sales of Vanilla Ice and the Beastie Boys werent saying that shit, I dont know what he's talking about and he has no proof to verify his claims.

He forgot how House of Pain went multiplatinum and Gold in the 90's with their all-white group, and then Everlast led their fans into the Nu-Metal rock-rap arena and went Platinum their.

Nobody has ever denied them the right to be a part of the culture.

It's obvious I know the difference. As my post began with "Mad?". So, your attempts to move this argument, conversation or discussion into some personal feelings I have FAILED miserably. You seem to be OverJoyed that Em spilled his guts to 60 mins. What I would like to have happened is, he be accurate about his situation. Speaking about his race as a hinderence is, in the very least cowardly. The fact that the MAJORITY of whites who inject theselves into predominately Blacks THINGS always fair just fine speaks directly to your IGNORANCE.

What's hard for you to understand is, it's pointless for him to mention any of this when EVERY rapper REGARDLESS of their SKIN color aren't recieved by all. What's Waka going through right now? What's Gucci going through right now? None of it's easy. But Waka aint talking about his Skin color. But because, Em is white if a person thought he couldn't rhyme it had to do with his SKIN and not skill? Come on Son. This is MCing.

OK so it's an attempt to draw similarities. I see. But stop acting like whites can't be from Detroit. Whites built Detroit and it didn't become majority black until the 1950's and Detroit been around since 1712. And pro white groups have historically been cool with the NOI and the BPP since the mid 20th century, so I don't see the shock. We both want the same thing for our respective ethnic groups.

And EM is not surrounded with House Niggas. He provided opportunities that other blacks did not want to provide. THIS IS THE TRUTH. Wasn't NOBODY BLACK SIGNING BLACK ARTISTS FROM DETROIT ON THIS LEVEL SINCE BARRY GORDY LEFT. HE EVEN SIGNED OTHER ARTISTS FROM ALL OVER THE NORTH WHO PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES FOR OTHER BLACKS. I don't see the problem.

wat r u talkin about stop actin like whitez aint from da D???? & yess feminem is surround'd by house niggaz like gay azz dre , d12 & cuuurly cuz them coonz will diss a blk man & roll wit a racist redneck like feminem...& smh @ a white redneck havin 2 save blk rapperz n da D da D LOST!

OK I can dig it.

"If I was Black, I would of sold Half" - Eminem

This is what I expect in the future, they did the same thing with Elivs. When you bring up what the Black Rock N Roll Pioneers went through, all you hear is "Elvis sold the most records". Now I bring up the obvious plight of what Blacks had to deal with with there lyrics and the response I get is "I couldn't hear you over the 80 Million albums sold". Eminem record sales are irrelevent to his lame attempt to play Victim when Blacks Lyrical content have been under a microscope since day 1. Eminem actually had the nerve to say "Other rappers say the same stuff as me and don't get criticised" What world is he living in. "I wonder if it has to do with my color" Is he serious?

Em lost more points again. I like Anderson but this was softball interview. I can't wait till a real journalist confronts him on the "Racist Tapes". To me till this day he got a pass and if these tapes came out in 99 when "My Name Is Dropped" his career would of been D.O.A., lucky for him they came out after MMLP and TES after he sold 40 Million records so people can make excuses like the lame one he made, "Oh my Black Girlfriend broke my heart so now that gives me the right to make racist music", SMH. This is the rapper that they will try and say is the greatest of this genre'. Elvis reincarnated folks. Eminem was right to call himself Elvis, it's happening all over again. When the books are written they will try and say Eminem was the best at everything when it comes to rap and hip hop.

chuuuch!
