Precious was a fuckin pathetic movie for a number of reasons. That movie made a mockery of Black ppl and was filled with every possible negative stereotype about Blacks. She was illiterate, HIV positive, obese, a teen mom, poor, and had a fat loud mouthed mother who sat on her ass all day. And if that's not dramatic enough she's sexually and physically abused by her mom and has babies by her father. It's like they said "ok let's make every possible fucked up scenario happen to this black girl cuz the public loves to see the black struggle. It wasn't "touching", it made me roll my eyes at the cliche storyline and the sorry ass attempts to evoke emotions outta me.

There's only a handful of Black films released a year. And the most talked about film highlighted the worse of the worst of Blacks. Just because a character in a movie was raped/molested doesn't make it a good film. It was poorly directed also, it had a terrible ending.

c/s ...that shit just looked depressing ...i could never muster up the desire to watch that shit...

Some of Tyler Perry shit is coonish...But more importantly he shit gives off a more feminist feeling (Strong black independent sista that stay shittin on black man)....But the white man been put the black man out the picture and put himself in place (the government along with the state and welfare) so their minds been gone..So anything black women support on a mass level will continue to hurt the potential of a black community...

Billions of dollars on fuckin weaves when we should have more businesses...

Millions of black females supporting the dumb ass thug look when they could be supporting niggas that go the opposite route...Especially when women kno most of the shit these dudes is doin is to impress them..

All these women supporting these dumb ass tyler perry stories that always got some impossible ass twist to it that throws realism out the picture...

With all that being said...I blame black women.

@JDSTAYWITIT.

Really aint got shit to do with white folks but since you brought it up we can add that to it.

My issue isn't even that he "represents" me, its how he represents people like me. Like I said his representations of black males are bullshit, the shit reminds me of a black female novel or song. Its wack. Its one thing for it to come from some random black author like Terry McMillian but its another thing coming from another black man.

I don't think the he is a coon either, he just a weak ass nigga period.

Because it's in their DNA.

a lot of the people callin him a coon are just looking to make money on saying hes terrible for blacks from the few that agree with them...

I think some people got the definition somewhat twisted. Let's see..here are some examples of the definition of "coon". Credit on Dictionary.com and Urban Dictionary.

coon [koon]

Origin

coon   [koon]

noun

1. raccoon.

2. Slang: Disparaging and Offensive . a black person.

3. a rustic or undignified person.

(1) Derogatory term for black people. Similar to "nigger." Originally a shortened form of the word "raccoon," used in reference to the animal. The black eye masks and noctural habits of the animal paralleled the characteristics of typical robbers and thiefs. The stereotype was then applied to black people.

FORREST: Hi, Earl! What’s goin’ on?

EARL: Coons are tryin’ to get into school.

FORREST: Coons!? Well, raccoons try to get on our back porch, Momma just chase ’em off with a broom.

EARL: Not raccoons, you idiot, niggers. And, they want to go to school with us.

FORREST: (with much surprise) With us? They do?

LMAO @ this one..

(2) An insulting name for a black person. Similar to 'Nigger'.

Black man: "What's up homie?"

White man: "Can't you coons talk proper English?"

Black man: *Shoots White Man*

Words that are synonymous to coon: nigger, porch monkey, spade, spook, jiggaboo, jungle bunny..now that we got that out of the way, is Tyler Perry a coon? No. Only to racists.

The proper definition of what Tyler Perry is a modern day minstrel show that got rich off it...except it's in blackface, but in a dress, makeup and grey wig.

That was actually only part one. And yes people do want to find somthing offensive, but who controls hollywood black people don't. When films like these are produced rich white hollywood executives fund and promote them. At the same time some of the hood films of the 90's did portray certain realities and where not made necessarly to expliot.
