LOL @ Zimmerman having enough money to pay the entire bail off without giving a fuck.

The judge/prosecution probably won't be too happy about him sitting on $200,000 while claiming indigent.

I think people are losing focus of the real issues here.

Zimmerman was labeled white because when the police came he/or someone else said he was white. It's in the police report. It's not a media conspiracy. He actually is identified as white.

The major issue is why did it take so much outrage to bring charges for this case? It seems as if the police department did everything in it's power(including coach some of the witnesses) to keep charges from being issued...

Also... fuck the part of the story that says somehow this crime is more acceptable cause some unrelated black males broke in somebody else's house...

i didn't think that race was the point of the article. it talked about it, but i thought the overall tone was about how he has had a history of helping out people in the neighborhood, regardless of color. trying to dispel any notion that he is a racist. And I don't think the article said that killing an innocent person is acceptable. It was saying that people have been breaking into homes in the neighborhood - meaning Zimmerman had a reason to be on the lookout. some people believe that the actual account is something as simple as he just saw a black man and assumed he was up to no good so he approached him and killed him. The article was just saying that its not that simple.

You think them talking about his "black roots" in the title has nothing to do with race?

also; being on the look out is one thing. He saw him and called the police. That's all that needed to happen.

He crossed the line when he began to stalk trayvon, and attempted to confront him.

Race was a part of the article, but I think most of it was about giving the pulse of the neighborhood and the good things he did there and create a sort of motive of being suspicious of people. That's all. It wasn't justifying him ignoring the dispatcher or justifying the killing

I think a large part of what bothers me is that there is a dishonest effort in trying to make Zimmerman the victim.

The real victims are those who have crimes committed against them just because of there skin color - being white will get you killed or maimed in certain/various parts of the country. BTW Drgoo0285, A big part of me hates those who seek retribution in this case and are determined to kill innocent people.

An even bigger part of me hates when salty white people try to divert the conversation from institutional racism to what some random black dude did to some random white person..

The biggest tragedy is when black people like you talk about diversion tactics supposedly used by others, and then turn right around and DO the same exact thing in that message of yours above aka hypocrisy. BTW when are you and yours gonna start addressing the REAL THREATS to today's black man/& white people in general - YEAH another black man - have you checked crime statistics lately? e.g.. BLACK-ON-BLACK murder rates....do you remember busayo? did you watch that video i posted about all the trayvons of the world being KILLED by other black men and NO Sharpton's or Jackson types were ever seen talking about those poor victims. Where was the media then?

I've never done anything like that.. :-\

Also

awhites are the biggest killer of whites. The secret is that people are more likely to kill people they are around.

He can be considered a "victim" of negative bias, either from the media or the public.

A: His bad press comes from stalking and killing an un armed kid. I think if anyone deserves negative (non-slandering) attention it's this guy.

B: The way he's going about making people pity him is pretty dirty... Everything from using Joe Oliver, to lying about how much money he had raised..

Good article. Glad someone else acknowledged that young black men had been committin robberies in the community. And that they explained some more of his phone calls. It was dumb that people used his excessive phone calls to portray him as a vigilante when it's the COMPLETE opposite.

also more about his calls...

" In one case, he chased a reckless driver while calling 911 — the driver later told police he was terrified that Zimmerman was going to attack him."

I mean, obviously he's a dude who wants to be some sort of hero, and at times seems to act erratically.

Think it looks like a vigilante in hindsight because of him and Trayvon. But in reality people call the police all the time and trail the person they called them on. Old ass ladies do it. They aren't trying to be cops, they just don't want them to get away before cops show up.

I've never seen/heard of an old lady doing it. This is way besides the point, that by doing this you make the person you are following nervous, and it's not your job to do such things.

I agree he went beyond what was called for. But doing this and calling the police a lot doesn't make him a vigilante, and he was portrayed as one.

well i think you and I have a different idea of what a vigilante is...

If he kept tryin to detain the person on his own I'd call him a vigilante. But just keeping eyes on the person until the police show up isn't a vigilante.

How come so many of you ignore the facts - Zimmerman did back-off and the aggressor was the young man who tried to beat him up and unfortunately lost his life in the ensuing struggle. In some ways I wish it had gone had gone the other way. Did any of you read the link Matt posted a few days ago...in fact it's probably within one of the many pages of this lengthy thread. The picture the media and many of the race batters paint is far from the truth in this matter...but I guess some folks don't really care about reality....all they want is violent retribution & seeking revenge on innocent white peoples.

IMO

Al Sharpton doesn't really have much historical credibility when it comes to telling the truth about events in his life...can you say tawana brawley? This dude/Zimmerman is NO MONSTER or cold blooded killer. FYI within that article is some really relevant info regarding recent break-ins within that community - & the majority of the perpetrators were young black youth.

He got out of his truck when Trayvon went between buildings where the truck can't go. Who initiated the confrontation is what's still being decided. My point is people made a huge deal about him calling the police all the time, and said he was a vigilante based on that. Vigilantes don't call the police like that. They handle it on their own.

I said he went beyond what was required of him. But you're really reachin to call him a vigilante. We still don't know if Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. All we know is he called the police and followed the person he felt was suspicious.

But just keeping eyes on the person until the police show up isn't a vigilante.

getting out of your car and running after someone is not just laying eyes on someone

How come so many of you ignore the facts - Zimmerman did back-off and the aggressor was the young man. & the majority of the perpetrators were young black youth.

Proof?

I don't need to show proof - that's the prosecutors job. You sure like to chop us my verbiage with two different sentences from two different paragraphs dontcha. Oh well that's par for the course when dealing with those who can't handle the REAL truth.
