i may be over-analyzing the 3rd movie based on the trailer but if you all remember the very first teaser trailer for the first movie where the Mars Rover was ambushed by a shadowy figure in the shape of a robot, and how NASA was shocked to see it; and during the movie, Megatron was called MB-1 because he was the first robot they found on Earth. But the new movie shows how we knew of their arrival since 1968 from the wreckage on the Moon.

So are we to forget that scene of the Mars landing and destruction of the Rover in place of the ship being discovered on the Moon? And why didn't NASA fund more missions to pull the ship from its impact point on the Moon to analyze it on Earth? I know they said they reversed engineered Megatron to advance human technology, but if they left that ship on the Moon, then the humans potentially failed themselves and set themselves up for disaster by the form of an invasion if something came looking for that crashed ship. And of course, the Government hid this from the people, not to "panic" them, and on a need to know basis.

....you do realize it's just a movie right?

Unicron is neither Decepticon or Autobot

20 years ago, I remember reading his origin in the UK version of the transformers comic that continued the storylines from the movie and was not associated with the US version. IMO, it was better than the US version, because it used Springer, Arcie, Ultra Magnus, Kup, Wheelie, and Soundwave was the Decepticon commander after everything fell apart, and a lot of the surviving Transformers from the movie.

Unicron was a fallen god from before the universe existed, who sought the ultimate peace that would be granted by the destruction of all life. Unicron once accomplished this task, wiping out all life, planets, stars and nebulae, even "the stuff of space itself" in the universe and leaving only nothingness and void. When there was nothing left, Unicron entered a deep sleep - but he had not been thorough enough. Tiny fragments of the old universe reacted with each other, and a new universe was born. As Unicron slept, the core of this new universe - somehow a sentient being - became aware of Unicron's threat and created a defender to battle his evil - Primus, the lord of light. Unicron awoke to find himself surrounded by another universe, and simply began to destroy it again.

He and Primus clashed many times, the force of their battles wiping out the very life Primus had been created to protect. To stop this physical destruction, Primus shifted the battle to the astral plane, where he fared little better, forcing himself into what seemed to be a sacrifice play - in shifting the battle back to the physical universe without time to properly generate their energy forms, Primus entrapped both himself and Unicron in two barren asteroids. But this was not the end of Unicron - over the eons, he learned to psionically shape his asteroid, and transformed it into a metallic planet, and then again into a gargantuan robot. Primus, fearing that to follow suit by forming himself in a similar manner would simply pick up the conflict where it had left off, sought an alternative way to defend the universe against the threat of Unicron by turning his asteroid into Cybertron; a planet that he populated with robotic beings that, like Unicron, could alter their forms. And thus were born the Transformers.

The Matrix is really the spark of Primus and all Transformers leaders lost in battle in protecting the planet. That's why Unicron wanted to destroy Cybertron and stated that the Matrix was the only thing that could stand in his way. He really wanted to take out his old nemesis, Primus, but had to deal with Primus' children.

....this wikipedia azzz nigga. lol

You don't have to give me "Unicron's" history, I'm a huge Transformers fan, I know his history. My point was in the cartoon film he helped the Decepticons and gave them upgrades. As for "Dark of the Moon" in comparison to the Mars Trailer from the 1st film, I don't think they are related. The 1st teaser from "Transformers" was to show that the government was aware of extraterrestrial life. This trailer is saying that they discovered it on the moon, I guess we will have to see the movie to know exactly what the government did and didn't know about the "Transformers". I think Bay will redeem himself with this one, may end up being the best of the trilogy.

Co-Sign On All that Human Shit in the Movies, I hate it , i dont care nothing bout' them corny ass love stories and them Corny ass Parents...

Cartoon Movie was Trill as Fuck and is still better than the Two Movies Bay Came out with..... It's gonna Gross Money cuz people are just hardcore fans and gonna watch it regardless , it doesnt mean u putting out a classic....

And it really Does come off as "Humans Featuring Transformers" in these Bay Films..... People fell in love with the "Transformers" ..it only seems like folks are falling in love with the Robots changing during the movie and having that "Oh shit thats cool" Reaction rather than Respect the Plot of the movie....

The Cartoon Movie is a Classic to me and i'll watch that Anyday of the Week over those Bay Films.....

Thats a good thing...

I agree to a extent as long as 1. bay has no involvement in it whatsoever 2. The director is a actual die hard fan of the show and has good intentions of remaining loyal to the cartoon 3. The trailer must look promising(no campy corny ish). And I dont remember there being any humans in beast wars and I was a huge fan back in high school.

Seeing the Super bowl Teaser, it's hard for me to believe this not going HARD. Prime just bodied two robots in a matter of 5 seconds. The whole film looks extremely serious like it's going to have a dark tone. The 1st two films had dark elements but were very kid kindly/lame humor in some parts. This is looking like the Dark chapter of the series. Maybe we won't get a happy ending, who knows but that teaser looked ILL, I can't even hate on Bay here. He's going big with this. This may be the rare case that a part III film saves the trilogy from losing Classic Status. Cause you only need 2 great films for a great trilogy.

...............epic.

I mean this trailer makes the 1st trailer with the moon landing look boring now. The whole feel of the movie is just on some death and destruction ish. I think this is going to be the biggest movie of the summer. SMH @ anyone comparing "G.I. Joe" to the "Transformers" series. The effects of these movies are worth the price of admission alone.
