This is abusive and disgusting, his dad is clueless just because many fathers are absent from their childs life doesn't mean we should overlook this type of tyrant behaviour on his part. A child needs discipline and i totally agreed with disciplining through work out but all of it, specially the haircut in which he had the belt out in clear sight and including the work out, which was done in almost torturous way because of the pictures taking and diminishing, was abusive, humiliating and harmful more than benefitial to the child. That kid is going to grow up totally screwed up.

Structure their character as you said and breaks the bad habits out of them. That can be done without hitting a child. Some parents whoop their kids ass. While other's don't do it.. But give them casual punishments like taking away their games or simply just ground them.
