I'll be moving to the Domincan Republic Punta cana late next year. I don't know how long I'll stay, hopefully by choice I'll stay for about 5 years.
It's been a 5 year investment to make it happen.
I used to want to live in Panama Panama, until I actually went there and experienced it.
Places I traveled to: Santo Domingo, Higuey, Punta Cana, Panama, Jaco/Costa Rica, Aruba, Grand Cayman Islands, Toronto/Canada, Bahamas.
Places I'd recommend: Cayman islands, Aruba, Canada
Places I'm trying to see: Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Bermuda, Trinidad, Heaven or Paradise
If you want to see another America without the hustle and arrogance and a little bit more old-fashioned and colonial go to Canada.
If you want to be in a Latin country that resembles America in a lot of city ways with a ton of tourists and people from other S.American/C.American people go to Panama Theirs also a ton of prostitution like NY on the streets and waiting outside hotels or in the casinos. You think you talking to a pretty girl and find out she's working on the low.
If you want to surf or see a place where the ocean is as high as the mountains and the mountains look like Lord of the Rings type forestry and the beaches are black sand and the people resemble a Native American look and are really down-to-earth and easy go to Jaco Costa Rica. They also do a lot of cocaine there (didn't try it, but it was offered 3x and saw someone in Subway snorting)
If you want to go to a black island and see people financially doing well with no poverty that speak with a Jamaican accent go to Cayman Island
If you want to be on an island and be annoyed with people asking you for money and not really feel at ease unless you on your cruise ship then Bahamas
If you want to go to an island where they have the beach everywhere and the people are laid back but not really anxious or caring that you're a foreigner or tourist and do not mess with you and where there are a ton of white tourists then go to Aruba. The people are black and the other half is the new latino mixed look.
On the other side of the island (40min drive) there's also more culture and completely local stuff where they have carnivals and play music outside. You don't really see poverty there. Oh, yeah, they still actually have burlesque houses.
If you want to see a lot of poverty, darker Latinos then go to Santo Domingo. hardly nobody speaks english
If you want prostitutes and cheap women who want your money or will fuck for free or a beer go to Higuey that beach I can't remember the name of it.hardly nobody speaks english
If you want to see the richer side of the Dominican go to Punta Cana. Areas near there are also more agricultural where you can see more rural life where people are down to earth, nice, and like conversations and to dance.hardly nobody speaks english

As far as domestic, southwest has never let me down.

I said they haven't even started boarding and I don't have a bag to check PLUS the email says you have to be there an hour before. Anyway long story short I had to talk to 2 supervisors before one was kind enough to print my boarding pass. By this time it's 15 mins before the flight time and u know once they close the hatch no one gets on. Needless to say my friend and I had to run to the gate. We barely made it. It all worked out in the end but they are crazy!
