The term SOUL is a word thats used here in America to describe certain things that are exclusive to African Americans.
For instance "Soul Food", is a term used to describe the cuisine that we created during slavery in the deep south to nourish ourselves
For instance "Soul Music" is a term used to describe the sounds of Gospel mixed with Rhythm & Blues that African Americans created to express ourselves
Our slanguage expressions like "Soul Brother", & "Soul Sister" are expressions used to denote out cultural heritage as African Americans
Having "Soul" is being able to express the emotions and sensitivity that articulate the triumphs and tragedy of being an African American.
White people who can mimic this emotion through their art are labeled as having "Blue-eyed Soul" (Jon B, Kenny G., Robin Thicke, etc etc).
Having "rhythm" is not the same as having "SOUL", please refrain from misusing our expressions and using them out of content with malicious intent.
