The Wale thread proved that certain mixtapes SHOULD be stickied. Maybe not as long in duration as the album threads, but the mixtape scene is as important to hop hop as the album in some cases.

The Post ya music and what are you listening to is the same concept, i could post the same songs in either or.. they should be merged into one. I havent done it myself because i felt i should respectfully put it out there to see how yall feel.

I got another thread idea too,. Simple, but i think it will be effective. I'll premiere it next month.

About the polls (pause)

1. Posters should be able to edit their own polls if they forgot to include something

2. Posters should be able to have include the option of picking more than one choice (at times its appropriate)

Not sure where to start, probably someone from the 90's thats well known but not obvious like Pac or Biggie to get it poppin and not be so lop sided(which is why i waited to do the "certified classic" shit).

Id say whoever wants to make the thread should stay in touch with Jono to get an idea of how the layout should be.

Maybe put together a criteria for what a "hip hop hall of famer" is, then let the ic decide. too bad we may get a few bad votes based on agendas against certain artists.

That's a good question..... Something needs to be done, we could just keep up the ones that are generating discussion/got a lot of posts & then make a sticky thread telling cats to chill on making future VS threads. Or better yet, we should just move them to Face Off Forum that way nobody gets upset, technically that is where those threads belong anyways.

Yea, none of us are jerks for the most part. I know I can be hard on some niggas but they deserve it. Let Menace ride wit his shit he got going on(even tho I had to stop that Pat vs Jay shit) but others are getting involved. Figure we should start sending the others to Faceoff.

my personal opinion is that the face off forum is pointless in 2013. It had its purpose back in the old days of the IC, but we now have less posters than we did back then, so a few of those sub forums aren't necessary anymore especially the face off forum.

Monday-Friday I work 8am - 11pm. Weekends are spent planning for the week ahead (teacher). Although there's some driving in between, I really lack any time to visit the I.C. apart from the daily visit to see notifications and how The Essence is doing... I've even thought about giving up the modship and messaging Jay, even though I don't want to as I still want to control The Essence and find a way back into making it the best sub-forum, or as close as it can be to being the best sub-forum. I feel as though I'm no longer fulfilling my role on the board though, and the threads that I make are sinking quickly, which is surprising as old heads would have loved them, e.g. The Foreign Exchange and their newest release, as well as Zo! who is a fine discovery over at Foreign Exchange Music, along with Sy Smith.

But I still love the I.C. and always want to be a part of it. It's just that my career is running my life now and it's hard to prioritise the I.C. over eating in the moments that are spare.

Hoping to start back posting fully for an hour each weekend though, if I can prioritise that then at least I'm populating threads on the regular in The Essence. It's the only place on the net to discuss independent hip hop intelligently, from what I've seen. So I don't want to lose that.
