Those are fighting words nigga lol That thread brings the most traffic in the reason, its become a mainstay.

Down to 8 sticky's and thats with 3 new albums dropping. We should be str8 with that. If niggas wanna find the other threads all they gotta do is search and post in them shits. We can also merge dumb random ass threads with the Random thread.

What I have for the OP:

Welcome to allhiphopcritic! Based on the entertainment review website Metacritic, allhiphopcritic is a rating system where all IllCommunity forum members can review albums and songs to create an average and final numerical score for each piece. Members will write mini (or full-length) reviews of new (sometimes old) album or song releases and rate them, creating a universal score from IC posters.

This will be good to get some discussion flowing as well as share opinions in a more professional manner. Users will be able to see what posters think about what's new this week, what was great this year, and what some of our all-time favorites were, as well as contribute to each official rating.

Rules

-No trolling. Posters are allowed to express opinions on and criticize reviews from others - just no straight up trolling. That is still a warnable offense in or out of this thread.

-Reviews for songs must be no less than 80 words.

-Reviews for albums must be no less than 150 words (it's really not that much).

-Each review must have a rating or it will not count toward the final score.

Scoring

-Each review from members will be compiled and averaged into 1 final score for each album or song that is reviewed.

-Final scores will range from 0-100, with the higher number indicating a better overall average for reviews. Final sores will be highlighted in different colors to indicate good, bad, or average review scores. If the numbers are too hard to read, then you can look at the pretty colors (see below):

Ratings_zps892d23bb.png

-Each member rating must be on a scale of 4 (0 to 4), 5, 10, or a letter grade (between A or A+ and F or F-).

-Reviews from moderators and allhiphop staff will be included into the final Member Score, but will also create a separate Modscore.

-Again, each review must have a rating to count toward a piece's final score.

-Any review that violates any of the rules will not be counted toward that piece's final score.

Review process

-Albums or songs up for review will be chosen by Reason moderators and/or if there are 3 or more members requesting them to be reviewed.

-Each album or song will generally be up for review for 10 days.

-At least 1 day prior notice will be given for each review period.

-Extensions for review periods will be at the discretion of KillaCham or other moderators.

Review schedule

J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive [December 6 - December 16]

Any suggested changes to the rules?

Are you guys feeling the name allhiphopcritic?

Feeling the banner?

Anything to add?

Most importantly, any other suggestions of what we should review to start out with (album/song)?

That's dope. I think we should change the name tho, if everybody else prefers it to remain the same its cool. Ill drop some name options later. I think we should start with the Cole album.

Aight well I was thinking about just dropping the thread tomorrow since it leaked and a lot of people have opinions on that album. What about the first song to do?

What do you think about "The AllHipHop Roundtable" or "Review Board". I dont think we should have the word "critic" in the title. I know artist frequent this site, even Jay-z said he read the review for MCHG on AHH in the breakfast club interview, so Im sure this will pick up some steam..

As far as the song we should start with, what do yall think about starting with "I" by Kdot?

Is it possible you can change the 1-100 scoring range to 1-5, cuz I dont think a 81% avg album should be considered a universally acclaimed album. If not ,cool.

I think I like Review Board better than Roundtable. More of a ring to it. Just curious, why don't you think we should have the word "critic" in the title?

Try not to look at it from a GPA or school grade perspective. This scoring system would use more of the 0-100 scale than that. For example, based on this, 50 would be considered dead center average where as in school that would be a straight up failing grade. And if you look at the charts 4/5 is an average of 81.

I see what youre saying as far as the score, I can rock with it. I always felt like the word critic has a negative connotation to it, but that might just be me. If everybody's cool with the first name, Im cool with it, just throwing out options.

"Critic" sounds too cliche. I like "AllHipHop Review Board"

I feel what @YoungGoldie is saying with the scoring. You say try not to look at it from a school perspective buuut Im sure 90% of us have at least made it to the 10th grade lol we may be able to not look at it like that but most of the board will. Just a thought.

My own opinion is trolling will be inevitable and for this to work right, I think it should be 0 tolerance. You have some people that hate certain rappers for whatever reason(probably not even heard the album at hand) and could possibly ruin a rating. How do we take that into factor or we just have to deal with it?
