Agreed and evidence should be given and concluded so that we're in agreement and support a given decision towards a ban made by a fellow mod.
This would mean that this thread is very important in terms of the ongoings of banning within The Reason unless we agree to a PM to all Reason Mod's regarding a ban with Mods having a 24 hour period to respond to a ban - before it is put in place - unless the instance in contention is in need of a much swifter action.
But really, I think our actions, if they are strong, will lead to a following pack of posters who understand what is and isn't allowed. Perma-bans should be avoided unless absolutely necessary, IMO. We're very fortunate to have these 'tools' at our discretion.
The 'few day' bans that are in the works are going to be much more helpful to us; allowing us to make less important bans without the acceptance of all mods - although we should be informed as to the reasons still and links would be helpful as to the given instance at hand.
But seriously, we should enforce the message as much as possible: The Reason: Intellectual Hip Hop Discussion at its Finest.

Inside the thread, the subject read:

I think this is an informative way of getting across to posters that a thread isn't a post. It's much more than that. They need to ellaborate on their posts to say something meaningful. Otherwise, it's going to be a weak thread. In most instances.
The premise of this thread, however, is great. As it's a Reason poster reaching out to learn more about the music. That should be praised, IMO. As we have a lot of closed minded individuals on the board who can name less than five favourite artists of theirs. This philosophy needs to be broken, as much as possible.

I agree I think obvious things like nudity etc goes without saying. But more complex issues should be discussed so that we are all on the same page.

Speaking of which what do y'all think of certified rider? In my opinion that's a shadyteam alias. I do think some action needs to be taken but I want to hear what the reason mods have to say.

I think she should have a formal warning from mod's as to how we can actually keep tabs on her now and she won't be able to post or create threads in the near future. That said, I've never had to deal with her directly as much as other's, so I'm happy with whatever you decide.

I also propose a zero tolerance approach to all the hackers from before theydid their best to destroy this site we all love and should not be given reign to weasal back in and do so again we should post their IP's in here and keep a eye out for when they come back with new aliases then ban them as soon as we know who they are. Just yesterday someone from illinois tried to log into and reset my facebook password. Thank god facebook locks your account when some random location you do not regular log in from tries to access your account. Given my previous account take over and them now knowong my personal email I am pretty sure I know who did what. But I wanted feedback from other reason mods on the matter 1st before acting on my own...

I know this was a hot issue before but how should we handle multiple threads of the same subject? Not many were a fan of fazeems super mergers. So what do you guys think we should do?

Posters are highly unoriginal, but if we can have as many 'hot topics' as possible, then we'll have a wider variety of topics being discussed... it'll give people ideas as to what threads to make as well...

I know I was the guy who started the whole mega thread idea but its time we let all that shit go. For those that don't know, we have a "Sink" feature that simply makes thread fall out without having to close it aka u can keep posting in it but the thread won't bump like normal threads do. This is a perfect way to get rid of redundant threads without having to argue with the T/S about why it was closed
