I don't think Nas is in everyone's top 5. He's in a lot of peoples top 5 but, he doesn't resonate across the culture like the other 3.

There's no such thing as "should be in everybody's top 5". Can we make this thread the thread where we recognize the subjectivity of hip hop. Your top 5 is never going to match mine because we live different lives, and what I listen for in hip hop might not be the same as you. You can't tell too many white boys that eminem ain't the greatest of all time just like niggas can't tell me Scarface ain't the GOAT. Lupe is the most lyrical rapper i've ever heard, but a lot of niggas won't believe that, and it's cool. It's all subjective, niggas been beatin dead horses due to boredom for years startin these corny ass threads. Ya'll wanna start a thread, do a series for niggas to make a case for these "obvious" choices. Start with Big, Pac, Nas, Hov, and Rakim, or whoever you feel like is obvious. As long as people like Flo-Rida don't appear in the series, it should be dope. Maybe you might sway some people, incite good, evolved convo, not this rap city the basement shit, that ship has sailed, somebody might give a history lesson that make you look at an artist different, who knows, but I do know, ya'll can't keep hittin niggas wit this.
