It looks like Marvel really wants to tap into the horror vein rather than the whole fantasy aspect Strange can get into as well which is fair enough, they already do that with Thor. I am just concerned Marvel's PG-13 standard may make this a bit more difficult but Insidious did well.

It's more beneficial to go with smaller actors. When you see Johnny Depp in a movie you see him as Johnny Depp just because of how well known he is. A lesser known actor can actually become the character. Plus a smaller actor will be cheaper and more likely to sign a 9 picture deal.
