Lmao@a few of you making Jayz into a victim. Jayz spent his a whole career shittin on niggaz ("its a pitty half of y'all won't make it"). He up here selling high priced clothes in racist azz stores, bragging about him owning the Nets (which turned out to be a HUGE stretch), and remained mostly neutral on any obstacles black america faced. NOW we supposed to support him? Why exactly? Because he black? FOH. I stopped supporting Jayz after the Barneys fiasco. No black person should support a nigga only out to exploit the community

Truthfully nobody i know have nor gives a damn about tidal. Aint nobody paying no dub a month to listen to some old ass state property or jayz album when the bootleg man got cds going 5 for 10

did I say something wrong? or are you americans bitching cause I asked if he has a tattoo on his arse? smh I'm surprised you folks aren't scared of having sex

It's funny to me all the hate jay gets.

When master p was out here robbing all his artist and athletes you ain't hear shit from the people.

J. Prince do same shit he get applauded. And hailed as the supreme OG.

Even when Suge was on top doing some of the foulest shit. Niggas was tipping they cap.

But since it jay and he going against corporate conglomerates niggas wanna cut they eyes and thumb they noses at him. I bet you if jay was out here doing a bunch of "RNS" niggas would be laughing, applauding and praising but since he's hob nobbing and rubbing shoulders with cacs you niggas view it as he think he better than us black people. Watch them crackers turn around and shit on him and I'm laugh in his face. That's a real crab mentality we as blk people suffer from. FYI they treat all black peoples like shit. Wether you rich or poor. They did it to Martin, Marcus, Malcolm, Michael and so on. It's called divide and conquer.

Why 50 Cent always worrying about what other people are doing. He need to focus on his dwindling career, nigga hasn't been relevant in 5 damn years. He got all the answers to the questions(or think he does), but can't fix his career.

Jay took the money and ran pretty much destryed every artisi on rocafella career now he trying to get band back together but nobody trying to hear no 50 year old camel tading verses with the beanie sigel that shipped done sailed got a hole in the boat ad sitting at the bottom of the ocean. Jayz + old rocafella artists=lame ass concert and music

I can't simplify the narrative anymore than this:

Jay Z isn't saying "Support me because I'm black". He's saying "You're criticizing me because I'm black."

Which, as I said before, is an accurate observation. If Paul McCartney brought the Nets to Brooklyn, if David Guetta owned Tidal, if Sam Wilson was pushing Ciroc, if Maroon 5 sold shoes, if Bruno Mars sold high end clothing in a upscale outlets, would you be on AllHipHop criticizing it? Sure, if confronted about it, you might say "Yeah that's stupid, I don't like it." But then you would be done with it. You wouldn't bother chasing down every news development and arguing why things are destined to fail.

But because these are black multi-millionaire rappers, you think you have an obligation to meet every inch of their success with skepticism and suspicion. Not unlike the government, the police, Fox News, and any other racist institution.

What's sad is that you don't even realize you're doing it.

One more thing...

To think that anyone would invest 56 million dollars without a long term plan is complete idiocy. You don't get that kind of money being a dumbass and you don't spend that kind of money like a dumbass. (Insert Phil Jackson/Knicks joke here)

Once again, Jigga man did not bring the Nets to Brooklyn, they were already on their way. He put his Camel face on it for 0.1% or some shit so he could give a very controversial movement legitimacy and people were rightly pissed. I'm not against his Tidal bowel movements though. I hope he succeeds. I just wanted him to push flac bruh.

You're not saying anything we don't know. Anyone who paid attention when he first bought stock in the franchise knew how little he owned and what his role was in the rebranding of the team. That's not the point so don't subvert the issue.

Again, there are people who have genuine legitimate concerns with big money ventures and there are people who only throw their two cents in when it's a Black man doing it. If the latter isn't you, then speak your piece and keep moving.

It's the niggas crying "Camel this, camel that" that expose themselves. Like throwing in a 10+ year old Camron/Nas insult will make anyone take you seriously.

why would we critisize non rappers on all hip hop? that makes 0 sense. If a white artist created tidal id be on youtube or the alternatives or another site saying the same shit. And again Jay saying niggas buy 10 i phones is an overstatement. Same thing with jordans. It's a statement that sterotypes niggas and it was aimed at black people.

Point blank jay launched tidal with hipster white artists and black artist who are white friendly (rihanna and cole and beyonce) it was clearly marketed toward a white hipster audience. He could give 0 fucks about the urban hip hop community during that launch. Then the hipsters didn't buy that bs because they own their hq music via files and vinyl. So then hov when to black folk and guilt tripped point blank.

10 years later, and his face still looks like a Camel. Don't need Cam'ron to tell me that. We still pressing ether buttons 10 years later too. I mean that has nothing to do with what i said though. He threw his face to it to give it legitimacy and people didn't like that. Period. I do think the Tidal situation is ridiculous, but let's not act like he's never been on some shady shit. And don't act like he didn't get a pass eventually with that stadium deal. I was just telling folks how the environment looked at the time of the stadium deal, what he signed on to at the time, and what the reaction was to it.

The long term plan is a cash grab...look how he owned 0.5% of the nets but made it seem like he owned 50%...n sold it

He had to sell after opening up his sports agency ...cant be both

Why did anyone think he owned 50%? Do you think spike lee owns the Knicks because he sits court side and wears big ass Jeremy Lin jerseys?

Let these people tell it, Jay should have launched Tidal with Gucci Mane and Fetty Wap or Talib Kweli and Mos Def, because then and only then would he have proven himself to be down for the cause.

All jokes aside having a Talib or Big Krit wouldn't have hurt. He went full hipster with Jack White/DaftPunk/Chris Martin then played a radio head song for a part of the conference.
