Jay-Z has been dealt with one of the biggest disasters in the history of the entertainment business and has brought on such stars as Rihanna, Madonna, Beyoncé, and Prince to sink with him. Noah Gallagher from Oasis brutally savaged Tidal in an interview with Rolling Stone.
“I think ultimately, the spiel they came out with, it was like, ‘Do these people think they’re the f—ing Avengers?’ Gallagher said. ‘I was speaking to [Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin] the other day and I said, ‘Are you after the Nobel Peace Prize? The Daily Beast describes what many see as the reason for Tidal’s epic failure.
“The idea behind Tidal is that these higher subscription fees will lead to greater royalties for the artists — so it’s pretty hard to understand how this endeavor is ‘for fans,’ as Jay Z claims. Tidal’s logic seems to be that fans’ money will now go directly into the pockets of the artists, but if the monthly premium is more than competing music streaming sites like Spotify and Apple’s Beats Music, how does this benefit the fans, and not just pad the pockets of these equity-blessed entrepreneurs?”
Now, to help Tidal sink even further, Rihanna, whose last two singles have been major flops, may launch her new album on the streaming service. Pop Crush broke the not-so-exciting news.
“The site may have brokered some sort of exclusive deal with Rihanna after all, because what’s the point of having a conglomeration of powerful pop artists on your side if you’re not going to use it to your advantage? While exclusivity of any kind has yet to be confirmed, Rih’s album has certainly been long anticipated, which could boost sales if the only way to hear it is through TIDAL. Audiophiles who double as Rihanna stans would certainly appreciate the site’s high-definition audio, one of its main draws.”
According to Engadget, Tidal will stream a concert from Prince this weekend in Baltimore. The good news is that you won’t need a subscription to stream the concert. However, some are suspecting that Jay-Z and Tidal are just trying to use the Baltimore concert and recent events as publicity stunts in order to save their service. In any case, this won’t be the last we hear about Jay-Z and his Tidal service.

Jay and Oasis have beef from Jays Glastonbury show lol so no surprise Noel is taking shots at him now. But hes right on his points. The exclusivity of Beyonce and Ri Ri singles haven't done shit and those singles have flopped. What makes a single blow up is being able to access that song everywhere not just a streaming site. Its funny too how he points out audiophiles dont double as ri ri stans. The average music fan especially in pop will find no value in hq $20 a month plans.
