Listen to a radio and HOPE you win or pay $10 a month and have things guaranteed for you??? Like I said for the common not blog site and forum columns customers this is gonna be a easy choice.... You can't REALLY think 15 of the biggest acts are all together and there literally is no plan or nothing but just giving ppl the same music they already getting elsewhere....

The only plan those artists have is to make more money but cutting out the middlemen. Tidal is not consumer focused..

THIS ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

This is a power move for Jay and the artists involved..

Besides getting exclusive music and being able to stream concerts live,

I really don't see how the consumer can benefit from this..

Also whatever exclusive music that tidal stream,

will be boot-legged and up on the internet for free in a matter of minutes..

But only time will tell..

Outside of exclusive content/music and streams of things like concerts and behind the scene footage and opportunity to maybe attend events what else can they offer to benefit the customer??? Y'all sounding like you expect them to cut you a check for listening to they music or something lol

Naw that's how YOU niggas act..

We respect and admire the fact that Jay makes power moves,

but lets not act like he's doing it for the people..

Jay a late 80's hustler,

he doing this for 1 reason only,

and that's to line his pockets..

The only people that will benefit from this is the artists involved..

Who said he's not doing it for the artist??? Hell he's admitted it's for the artist but just becuz the artist benefit from it most doesn't mean they're the ONLY ones who can benefit.... Getting exclusive content and exclusive access isn't a benefit over the competition??? Just becuz it won't be exclusive for long that means its not a benefit??? You'd rather pay $10 elsewhere just becuz I can go get that extra content other ways as opposed to paying $10 and having it offered to you without the hassle of having to search for it??? Like I said what can they do to benefit the consumer more then that besides cut everybody a who streams their music a check...

Cosign. This is how the majority of people who want and believe in high quality FLAC recordings think. Hence why they collect physical copies or store in hard drives large discographies of digital FLAC recordings they don't stream it.

That's because they couldn't stream it. People collect MP3s too, but i see these streaming services doing just fine. Honestly, i have a huge collection, and collecting is cumbersome, not to mention Hard drives die. I've lost an entire collection that way. I'm better about storing stuff now, but i'm a rare case of a person willing to go through all that. This is why Netflix streaming is beating out Blu-ray.

Jay Z: You guys may have seen some of the stats like, Aloe Blacc had a song that was streamed 168 million times and he got paid $4,000. If you provide a service, you should be compensated for it. And not just artists — just think about the writers and the producers…

What about Jahlil Beats, who produced Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot N**ga”? He went on to get A $2 million record deal or whatever, and Jahlil Beats just put the song out. So he wasn’t compensated for that song at all. I think that’s a shame. That someone has that talent and just isn’t being compensated because someone needed a business to profit off of their work. Jay Z: We believe that if you consume music for free, and that’s what you want to do, that’s your choice. There are good and bad parts of a democratic society — do what you like to do. I’m just talking to people who care about musicians and the music they consume. That’s who we’re speaking to

It’s not for everybody, and we’re not trying to force it on you but if that’s what you like and that’s what you really care about, then you have the option. And that’s what Tidal is saying. (Take that all you Fuksticks)

You must not know HQ/Flac heads. Them niggas be having shits backed up on clouds. Netflix is different. You watch a movie/series maybe once or twice. Hence that popularity. But music you listen an an album hundreds of times more than an album. People who have HQ music back that shit up and have it on clouds and servers protected from hard drive damage. At least in my experience as a communication major and from cats at work older and my age about that Flac vinyl hq music life they not paying hova $20 a month to stream music. They already got it on their computers and cloud devices in a high quality format.

I have a tone of flac and other types of lossless music files. LP and CD. You don't need to be a Communications Major to enjoy high quality music. There is an entire consumer market for expensive ass audio equipment. The most expensive headphones is 5k. Cloud storage cost monthly too. Transferring songs from the cloud to a local medium just to play an album is insane. You don't have to worry about organizing all of that music. I guess some people enjoy that. Then you have to keep it in one place on hard drive and constantly switch out albums unless you're walking around with a phone and a mp3 player with huge storage. Like i said all cumbersome when you can just stream. The price is obviously an issue, but that's not proof that people wouldn't want to stream flac. Still, there are no current alternatives that isn't a pain or limited, so maybe that's a premium for a rare service and non broke people will be willing to take the dive until something better comes along. I'm not paying it, but then i don't pay to stream mp3s either.

according to some of these responses people either stream, collect physical music or download illegally

not a combination of the 3 or even all of the above

the reason why music is available for purchase physically, digitally, streaming etc. is because there's a market for it. simple as that

this goes for just about anything especially movies and music

Rolan Polanski's a rapist. Just because you never saw it down mean it ain't happen...

Faggot. Get the camel's dick outcha mouth.

Thx for doing exactly wtf I predicted yo lame ass would do. Provide zero evidence to backup your Camel stanning while looking like a homotional bitch ass nigga.

I dont have the Currensy album yet, and im at work, so im streaming it...on Youtube. In front of a desktop where i cant move and listen.

Thats the only reason i have to ever stream.

In a few days tho it'll be on my Ipod and i'll have no purpose for streaming music. I'll have it, be able to move with it,. not worry about wifi or connection, etc. Hook up the ipod to my speakers at home, hook it up to my car stereo usb.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but hyping up streaming like this makes. no. sense.

And the lossless audio part is just bougie to me. Im sittin here listening enjoying it just fine, but let some folk tell it 'Nah, you got losses on your audio, son. llls Thats not a full audio experience thats not lossless.'

again I ask why should the consumer give a damn about the compensation of the artist. waah they didnt get compensated enough for streams of a song while niggas out here breaking they fucking backs for 7 bucks a hour with at will employers. You are a delusional stan if you think that Jay Z takes a second out of his day to think about if you fans which he have called dumb numerous times by the way are getting paid fairly at work. That is a artist-label issue not an artist-fan issue. Jay Z is double talking you guys into paying for what the label wont. LMAO @ Jay Z reaching out for "people who care about musicians". You mean Jay Z care for musicians like T Pain, Amil, beans, Jaz O, DMX. When Jay Z start giving a fuck about others? This is the same guy who you jigga warriors quote what you eat dont make me shit.
