Thats what I am reading too. There are also other factors that I've read that Tim Miller wanted a more "Stylized" sequel while Ryan Reynolds (who is an executive producer of the film and has casting approval in contract among a list of other things) wanted the sequels focus to be the comedy and character dialogue that got such a good response in the first film.

I hope the sequel turns out good. Its really sad because both Miller and Reynolds worked together for 7 years trying to get Deadpool to the big screen the way they both wanted it to be. They fought together forever and were given a one of the smallest budgets for a superhero film but and even had to come out of their own pockets for certain things during production. Then when it released it ended up breaking records and is one of the most profitable films ever.

Both of their visions is what made deadpool what it was, hopefully Reynolds can find a director he has that same type of Chemistry with.

Fan Starts Petition For Quentin Tarantino To Direct Deadpool 2

On Saturday, news broke that Deadpool director Tim Miller had walked away from directing Deadpool 2. Reports claimed that Miller’s quitting was over creative differences with Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, specifically in reference to the casting of Deadpool’s time-traveling mutant partner Cable.

With Miller gone, the sequel to the surprise superhero success story of 2016 is in need of a new director. At least one fan has a certain someone in mind.

Carl Champion Jr. has launched a Change.org petition asking Reynolds to give the Deadpool 2 director’s chair to Quentin Tarantino. Here’s the text of Champion’s petition:

If there was ever a chance to see Tarantino do a project almost guaranteed to make a billion dollars, this is it. We got a great taste of what this could be like in Kill Bill, but imagine having a guy like Tarantino write dialogue for The Merc with the Mouth! It would be so glorious. Join me!

Champions petition at the time of this writing has 644 supporters and is seeking 1000. If the petition reaches 1000 supporters, then...well, we’re not really sure what is supposed to happen. There’s no telling if Tarantino has any interest in directing a Deadpool movie. Reynolds is a producer on Deadpool 2, but – assuming he’s even aware of this petition – it isn’t like he can go and kidnap Tarantino and force him to work on Deadpool 2.

Ultimately, fan-supporting Change.org petitions are kind of a dime a dozen and tend not to amount to much of anything. The search for a new Deadpool 2 directly is likely already on the way, and who knows? Maybe Tarantino's name has been tossed around the 20th Century Fox offices, but hiring the Academy Award-winning director would likely up the budget of the film considerably from the relative shoestring budget of the original Deadpool. A budget increase for Deadpool 2 is already inevitable, but we can’t know how much money Fox is willing to put into the project.

Tarantino is known for creating films that feature frenetic, stylized action and frequently mix in pop culture references, such as Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill. That combination is likely what attracts Champion and his supporters to the idea of Tarantino directing Deadpool 2, as Deadpool himself is a character that tends to mix visually arresting violence with pop culture relevant and frequently meta-textual jokes and references.

Despite losing its director and struggling to land on an actor to play Cable, the script for Deadpool 2 is still being worked on. In addition to Deadpool and Cable, Deadpool 2 will also feature Domino, a mutant mercenary with good luck powers who was a Cable’s love interest when the duo was first created by Rob Liefeld, the same artist who created Deadpool. The rumored shortlist of actresses up for the Domino role is said to include Mackenzie Davis, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Lizzy Caplan.

SMH, they really gonna do old man logan................Man just watching the trailer I'm already pissed. They already proved time and time again that they can't make a good story up on their own. Might as well stay close to the cannon and add your own shit here and there(like the marvel universe does). I've found several things wrong with this shit just from the trailer smh.

LOL at professor X being in his early 30's and not aging for 20 years. Now all of a sudden like 40 or 50 years later he looks close to the age he should have been in apocolypse.

LOL at wolverine's mutant ability all of a sudden starting to fade away and he aged like crazy in a short period of time.

Really lol at in "Days of a future past", their future selves timeline took place just a few years before this movies timeline. Within a few years they both look old as fuck.

Don't even get me started on x-23 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They didnt really go into much detail what Tim Miller meant by "Stylized". I assume he may have wanted a more serious film (with the addition of cable and probably other X-Force members) and to focus on the special effects and the way the movie looks. If that makes sense? But Reynolds wanted the comedy and character interactions to be the focus. I think the first Deadpool was a blend because the fighting was really awesome but also had a good focus on Reynolds and comedy.

Read an article giving more information on the miller situation. Apparently there were two scripts/screenplays one was backed by the original writers and reynolds that was low budget and more comparable to the first one. The other screenplay backed by miller was an estimated budget of 150 million and they felt if they went too big for the sequel then they wouldon't be able to give the film a proper follow up

The fight scenes in Deadpool were garbage tho'. Deadpool one of the best hand to hand fighters and he's dope with a sword. We didn't see too much (any, really) of that. Tarantino would do that side of it justice

Apocalypse should've won at the end of x-men and that would've set up a age of Apocalypse sequel. But before Apocalypse wipes everyone out cable comes and rescues Jean, Scott, angel, storm and beast.and takes them to the future.

And in between those films logans should've taken place in that time period (before they inevitably set the time back by defeating Apocalypse).

Cable would also be a good way to explain character team ups
