It's a puzzling thing with Eminem like it's almost weird i'm not arguing with you i'm pointing out 1 main thing there is a huge difference between internet blogs/message boards and the real world

For example a black person in the real world who is not a fan of Eminem will simply say i respect the fact Eminem makes deep Songs about his daughter or how hard it was growing up in the hood or how hard it was tryna feed his daughter and live in a single parent home but i sell drugs and i like to listen to a lotta club Music so while i respect Eminem and him talking about his life struggles i'm more of a Young Jeezy type of person

But on here people talk about Eminem and sound foolish cos they never even heard his Music

Wouldn't that still be Hip Hop though even if a sub-genre? Hip-Pop's not really a sub-genre, it's just a term used to distinguish certain acts.

Regarding rap record sales, Rap just had a bigger year than any other genre in '10. It was the only genre to see an overall increase in sales partially due to Em's sales. In comparison to music as a whole, there was only one other artist in 2010 period to come close to his sales. It could be said that all music sales are down except for Em's because many of the people that support his music don't support other artists period.

Hip-Pop artists dont really represent HipHop to me, its like comparing Jimi Hendrix's Rock music to Death-Metal.

Only two HipHop artists went platinum in 2010 Emenim and the Canadian mixed kid...compare that to HipHop sales history and tell me when the last time an African-Americn didnt have a platinum album in a calender year.

Just because Emenim & Black-Eyed Peas sell a bunch of records dosent mean hipHop sales are looking up.

Don't get me wrong, Eminem is a talented lyricist, and his songs/albums may be just as good or better the other entries nominated...but i still wouldn't feel that it's a victory for Hip-Hop

People from around the world laughed at us and our culture he usurps the masculine energy in our culture and makes it more acsessible for rappers like LiL B. to become popular.

The underclass, innercity, and streets are no longer the biggest artists, the rappers that represent the struggle and touch sociial topics have been forced into the underground. Now mainstream HipHop is Ke$ha & Emenim...they took it GEE.
