The thing about most white hip hop listeners is that we don't support shit thats wack. If you go to a gucci mane, wocka flocka, or OJ da juiceman concert, you wont see too many white people there. We tend to gravitate towards eminem, nas, wu-tang, talib kweli, and even dead prez which is ironic, somewhat. So, the fact that eminem is white helped, but to say its the sole reason, or main reason a lot fo white people like him is false. I know just as many white people who dislike eminem, than like him.

Whites support plenty of Whack shit but that's another thread. You are correct there won't be many Whites at these venues because, many of these venues are dangerous and run by Blacks. These dudes are playing mostly local hood clubs or opening for other Black artists. But there are plenty of whites that like these artists. I don't think it's ironic at al thatl whites, are at the venues you mentioned because, these artists attract Blacks that have a lil more restraint then to shoot you over stepping on their shoes or for looking at their girl. No the sole reason is because, he's white at least not for non-whites but the BIGGEST reason is because, he's white. I know many more people that just don't listen to his Music just because, then people that dislike him.

Another Issue in this debate is sometimes in Defense of Eminem people will say "Atleast Eminem doesn't rap about cars, materialistic things and busting his guns" as if the other subject matter he raps about is any better? Many people complain that they were tried of him rapping about Killing his mom, his daugther and all the wild crazy stuff he raps about it. You can't diss rappers for their subject matter while praising Eminem for his. Eminem raps about murder and rape just as much as rappers rap about busting their guns. That's the double standard Eminem gets.

Vanilla Ice = high selling white rapper. He didn't have mic skills at all. He had no lyricism. Word play. Good content. Anything that fans could really relate it besides he was white. He was built upon an image to sell his whiteness to the hip hop community and grasp white fans, which it worked. He has no credible album to cement him as a good artist at all.

Eminem = highest selling white rapper, not only due to the fact he's white. Sure, white played the curb appeal but he was the 1st white rapper we ALL heard and were blown away. He has his lyricism, ability, flow, content, relations to back up himself as a white rapper. He has more than WHITE, he has ABILITY as a rapper. No one thought that white people could REALLY rap upon levels such as prime Nas, Jay-Z, Biggie, Black Thought, Common etc. No one thought that, hell, the whole "white men can't jump" can be labeled.

The fact that he has the ability as a lyricist and content that is real (TES/Recovery) that people CAN relate to is how he can back himself as an artist. He isn't a JOKE in hip hop like other white rappers who aren't as successful. Eminem BACKS UP being a RAPPER by being a DOPE EMCEE.
