I didn't say "Obama didn't need the white vote", I said he didn't win it overall. Obama's election changed the game cause he is the 1st president to not have a majority of the White Vote and win. Obama's election showed White America the country is changing and people will be elected with ALL RACES not just one race. My point is at the end of the day, he didn't win the White Vote so when Whites had a chance to finally elect the 1st Black President, majority of them still went with the White guy, "Their own".

The answer is YES. He isn't Paul Wall, he isn't Sparxx, he isn't V Ice, he isn't whoever else. He's a DOPE EMCEE. He can spit, that's def. not an issue with him as a rapper. He has the mic skills to back up sales. Now if he was just a lame, average rapper who just put out bullshit club songs, phoney images of himself (still being white) and sold high, then you could say damn that's a joke. He isn't a joke, we both know that. So yes, take his sales seriously. Even though you have your mixture of only whites buying his album. I feel it's no different than a Jay-Z stan buying nothing but Jay albums, should Jay's sales be taken seriously (no matter the # of albums sold)

There were Paul Wall white fans who bought his album because they liked/related to his tastes and content.

Eminem appealed wider to pretty much all white due to his lifestyle. He was a scrawny corny white kid, picked on by others and was this "trailer trash" image dude. Now, that can sell. Just as a Nas album can, his first one, 1. because of his lifestyle and image and 2. lyrical ability. The same can be said for all rappers who sale due to fans just like him only due to content/relations and just being a stan.

The reason I say no his sales cant be taken seriously is because rappers with skills sell and rappers with no skill also sell...you cant make excuses like "vanilla ice doesnt count because..." or "50 cent doesnt count because.."

i mean 50 and em both went diamond..one has great skill the other is just a beef making mc..but both sold comparably..that should indicate that skills dont play into sales as much..lil wayne and jay z..they both sell well..jay z is far more skilled then lil wayne..but they both sold

Look at illmatic by nas..that is regarded as his best album (even THE best album period by many) but im pretty sure that is his lowest selling album, skills dont equal sales..its awesome when a skilled mc does well..but if hes dope on the mic thats just a bonus to most of the buying market

What I'm saying is, as a high selling artist he CAN be taken seriously because he has the skill to back it up. Constantly I've been saying that and you cannot comprehend that, you're taking it as I'm saying, "he has skills so that's why he sells period".

It's like the saying, "talk though, you better back it up" . If you can't back it up, you have no credibility. If you can, then you're credible and can be taken as a serious person.
