Yea, that's definitely the response I expected.
The thing is, I'm not "on ya __", but I happen to like Em's music and I check for his threads, but in almost all of them, I happen to see you in it. You're like, the reverse-stan.

You have more posts about Eminem than I have total posts. Let's be serious.

To answer the OP, Eminem's legacy will be a brilliant lyricist who's talent will be overlooked because of the color of his skin.

that is foolish thinkin tho cuz a black rapper cant rap that bs that fem b spittin & get praised fa havin pure skill.,.,.,.smh if black rapperz could spit like marshall rap would b eazy cuz he just b rimin he dont b rappin about shit 90% of da time feminem has da upper hand bein a white rapper..

And then you say 90% of the time he don't rap bout shit?

So in the Way I Am he's not rapping bout his critics?

He's not rapping about being bullied on Brain Damage?

Not rapping bout Stans (waits for insult) in Stan?

Not rapping about his moms on Cleanin Out my Closet?

About consciousness on Guilty Conscience?

Wait...you telling me Em wasn't rapping about hypocricy on "Who Knew?"

Or Politics and the way he's viewed on "White America"

lemme find out Eminem wasn't rapping about some funny shroom shit on "My Fault"

or his Daughter on "Hailey's Song"

And there's way more that I missed. Your post shouldn't have been "he dont b rappin about shit 90% of da time"...it shoulda been he raps about more shit than 90% of rappers.

'The Slim Shady LP was the greatest, The Marshall Mathers LP was a classic, The Eminem Show was fantastic'

From The Be Careful What You Wish For Song

That's 3 critically acclaimed Album's outta 5

I agree with you .. I was referring to when Eminem himself said he has yet to create "that" album. And he doesn't know if he ever will. Now I love his shit but for me the replay value is low on most of his stuff. But hate him or love him can't nobody say this guy is wack.. he mastered his craft.. now whether or not you like what he writes that is a whole other story.. But he will be remembered as one of the BEST! to ever do it .. not like some of these other clowns who will never mature from a rapper into an artist.

yea. I think we all know em has some skills. But his catalog, for the most partm is subpar. This will hurt him in the long run when it comes time to evaluate his work, as standing the test of time because compared alongside his other "elite" contemporaries, the merit is just not there. Overrated...hell yes.

Slim Shady LP, The Marshall Mathers LP & The Eminem Show (all Produced by Eminem predominantly)

Lose Yourself & Stan (all time great Song's)

Lyricist, catchy Hook's, emotion, deep Song's, funny Song's, content based on real life experience, Produced countless Hit's from Smack That to Lose Yourself

Produced classic Album's like Cheers by Obie Trice & Devil's Night by D12

What more can you ask for? an MC that made 3 amazing Album's that Sings & Rap's about his life experiences (which many people relate to)
Eminem is in no way "deep" unless you're on X or something. And yes he is funny but so is Redman and Busta Rhymes.

Eminem is NOT a great producer. He is barely even a good producer. He's just "OK."

Great lyricist. Great flow. Those are his strengths.

His discography lacks reply value and he relys too much on, "hey everybody, can you believe I went that far? arent I 'shocking?!'" to get his point across.

technically (flow, rhyme scheme, lyricism, etc) he is probably the greatest mc, but his catalog isn't even top 10 to me and doesn't have much replay value. I don't feel he has a true classic along the lines of Illmatic, Reasonable Doubt,Ready to Die,etc. Overall he is in that 10-15 range!

This pertains to almost every rapper..especially tupac. Pac has no classic albums if em doesnt...albums with great songs but dont obtain "classic status" because of 2 or 3 fillers.

Barry sanders never got a superbowl ring but it didnt take away from the people admired his skills.
I think I clearly stated that Eminem was a skilled rapper. Lyrically one of the best to ever do it. But emphasis on ONE OF THE BEST. You ask an Eminem fan and it's hard to find somebody who knows enough about hip-hop not to think Eminem was the best emcee ever. Thats what I meant by over rated.

So judging from the posts in here...we can conclude that Em will be the ONLY "elite" rapper, without an irrefutable classic.

Solid legacy.

Why does every thread have to turn into a shouting match between two people? Say your piece and move on. If you aren't capable of talking about hip hop and only want to berate other people's opinions, go troll on some other message board

Umm...and who the fuck made you the connoisseur of threads in The Reason?

You don't like it, click the "X" on the top right hand corner, and go the fuck away.

Like i said before, loads of fans and tons of huge top 5 rappers have loads of respect for eminem and pretty much all critics and magazines rate him very highly and credit him for his talent

I agree, I was listening to that shit the other day for the first time in years and that white boy kills the whole album, but I always thought The Eminem Show was his best album.

1. The Eminem Show

2. The Marshall Mathers LP

3. Slim Shady LP

4. Relapse

5. Encore

Just waiting to hear Recovery in 2 weeks
