is rakim even relevant in the industry nowadays

These now-centric cats are amusing.

Is Malcolm X relevant nowadays? After all, he's dead right?

Is Louis Armstrong relevant to jazz nowadays? That cat is dead too.

Just because Rakim isn't making waves at this moment, doesn't negate his impact.

I've never said rakim never had an impact on hip hop & i'am a fan of his work. i just don't see or hear anyone bringing him up about what he has done or what he's gonna be doing in these days & times.............................

You said that Rakim isn't relevant nowadays but he helped shape hip hop. That past shapes the present so it is relevant to "these days & times."

niggas gonna be mad when recovery becomes album of the year...

Drake will have Album of the Year before Eminem does.

Let's not rule out Kanye, either.

being raciest clouds your judgement :p, btw how can you relate to being a millionaire with Bentleys and 10 whores a night?

punisher__thehater says: not all rappers rap about money! either does eminem!

nas F.O.A.T.

So how exactly can he be a G.O.A.T. contender with a subpar catalog?

Most people, if not all, will argue that having a strong, cohesive repertoire is a MUST if you're going to contend for the title of the greatest of all time.

So why is it that Eminem can get a pass? Is it a race thing?

This has been discussed before though.

Compared to other true classics his albums dont hold up.

He still has a solid catalog.

he doesn't have that quintessential classic album, i just see people calling mmlp a classic by default because its his best album.
