I think we're reading into it all wrong, in the original comment about it the scans said that "Goku runs out of options collapses and then suddenly a never before seen ki emerges from his body". I don't think it'll have anything to do with the spirit bomb.

Also I think the Vegeta episode will be the one to combat Kale, Cabba and Caulifla and probably eliminate them OR figure out the way to eliminate Jiren. As I've said, I still think Gohan will be the deciding factor in U7 winning the tournament either through some stroke of genius or him going berserk.
