The last time I saw Goku break character was when he first fought Frieza. Frieza had Goku hallucinating seeing naked mens NH seeing Vegeta, Nappa, Radditz and his own father but nekkid doubting himself that he could even beat Frieza that shit was Fuckin nuts man. Goku straight up was powerless against Frieza in that first fight on namek.

My prediction is somehow Gohan will play a role in them winning by finding some loophole or cheat code. Vegeta prolly gonna premiere what he did in the manga against Black and go SSG red form where he harnesses the energy so it doesn't strain his body and allows him to fight longer.

i never noticed Goku's face why he look crazy lol. Vegeta can beat Toppo easy. Jiren and Hit will be a problem though. Gohan might have to fight those 3 wolves by himself. he can take them easy this time though.

It'd be dope if they pulled a YuYu Hakasho (look it up, in the later seasons after the dark tournament) and Goku had a borderline evil ancestor awaken inside him, that powered him up and made him more vicious.

not gonna happen, just the face in that transformation made me think about it.

But for real...I've been thinking about it more and more, Goku's "friendship" with Freiza, the fact that the other universes view him as a villain, Vegeta legitimately showing concern for Goku's intentions.

It's beyond the level of the story lines normally made for DBZ, but it'd be a dope concept. I also keep thinking about the Xenoverse storylines and the theme of good characters turning evil. I'm overthinking this way too much for a DBZ storyline though
