Arale is back! I honestly think the filler episodes following this arc will better than the arc itself.

This arc was Garlic Junior in terms of length but they fumbled way too often to deliver a coherent story. I get that Trunks was supposed to end it for the sake of his timeline but the power inconsistencies were unbearable.

And Zamasu turning into a shell to cover the earth? What? I think the saga started off well but as it progresses the writers knew the story was outside of their capabilities.

As for Zeno, Trunks' timeline is more of a separate universe just like the Earth 2 stuff in DC. In his timeline there are still universe 1-10. The fracture in time he created separated his universe from the current timeline.
