Hold up, someone explain where this Zamasu and Black Goku came from. Timeline and all of that. I need a refresher.

Black Goku is Zamasu.

Main Timeline:

Zamasu is agitated by the violence and savagery of mortals. He's an apprentice kaioshin in Universe 7.

Trunks comes from the future with news of a villain wearing Goku's face wrecking life.

Black follows Trunks to the past. Beerus says he feels Zamasu's Ki within Black.

Beerus, Whis and Goku go to confront Zamasu in universe 7. Goku beats Zamasu is a training duel.

Zamasu now HATES mortals with a passion because they dare challenge and fights gods.

TIME LINE BREAKS:

Zamasu Kills Gowasu, his master, collects the Universal Dragon Balls and wishes for a body switch with Goku. Black is Born.

Black then kills Goku (in Zamasu's body), Goten and Chi-Chi.

Black steals a time ring and travels to the future.

FUTURE:

Black kills Gowasu and recruits Zamasu to help him.

Zamasu collects the universal dragon balls and wishes for immortality. (let's call him IZamasu, I=Immortal)

Black and IZamasu wreak havoc because they can. They kill Gods, they kill mortals and sip tea.

MAIN TIMELINE:

Goku and Vegeta travel to the future to fight Black and IZamasu, they lose.

Goku and Vegeta retreat to the past. Inform Beerus and Whis of what's going on.

Beerus, Whis and Goku travel to universe 7 to confront Zamasu again. Zamasu hasn't done anything yet.

They continue watching to see Zamasu kill Gowasu. Whis reverses time (so Gowasu is saved) and prevents Zamasu from killing Gowasu.

Beerus executes Zamasu.

None of this effects IZamasu or Black in the future.

Goku & Vegeta go to the future where they get beaten up again and retreat to the past.

Vegeta goes to the hyperbolic time chamber to get stronger while Goku learns the evil containment wave.

Vegeta and Goku go to the future. Vegeta beats Black down while IZamasu is getting manhandled by Goku.

Black taps into a higher power and slices through the universe (or time, it hasn't been explained yet).

Trunks learns evil containment wave and uses it to lock IZamasu in a jar. IZamasu escapes (because Goku is stupid and left the seal)

IZamasu and Black fuse using the potara earrings.

The part that confuses me is how the timeline breaks. With the Time Ring the wearer isn't affected by changes in timelines. How does this timeline break when everything happening in the main one isn't manipulated by something like Trunks' time machine.

Zamasu had to kill Gowasu and grab the time ring, but Beerus kills him. The only reason they know of Zamasu is because Black was messing with Trunks. And this is where the paradox occurs. Trunks had to go to the main universe and ask for help.

Beerus, Goku and Whis meet Zamasu and Goku fights him. Somewhere around here he supposedly kills Gowasu and takes the time ring. But how does the split work?

Is there another timeline? Because Zamasu only knows of Goku since Goku had to fight him after knowing of Black.

Zamasu is from universe 10 by the way.

What annoyed me this ep was mai saw zamasu flying towards them while hanging from a building. She had time to get down, enter the garage, then tell bulma that he's coming before he flew there?

THEN bulma had time to demonstrate the mufuba wave to trunks, then have him try, THEN to show her a video of piccolo doing it, before zamasu got there?

Oh and toriyama lazy as shit he literally makes bulma a deus ex machina for whatever problem arises.( The vid of piccolo)

And apparently you can learn the mafuba in about 30 secs...

Its a time loop Time is broken due to all the manipulation from time machines and time rings.

In the end: Black made himself exist.

Trunks time machine has manipulated time. It has had a profound effect too.

Because of Trunks time machine the loop begins in the first place. If he never comes back in time nobody ever sees Black, Beerus never senses Zamasu ki in him and thus Goku and Zamasu never meet.

But because its a time loop Black's birth is inevitable in a way.

Zamasu in the future never met Goku so he spent his time disliking mortals in silence and never found a reason to exterminate them.

Time breaks because Trunks informs them of Black's existance and then Black comes back in time.

Think about it like Terminator:

Kyle Reese goes back in time and fathers the future savior (Jon Connor) but the savior isn't born unless Kyle goes back in time.

The whole reason Kyle goes back in time is to protect Sarah from something that DOESN'T EXIST YET.

Trunks tells the group about a villain that DOES NOT EXIST in their timeline.

It creates a loop where one thing is INEVITABLE and creates all subsequent events.

In this case Black existing is the inevitable event born from a parallel future (a 3rd timeline) created by Trunks fucking with time.
