Can trunks and future trunks fuse?

I wonder what the portmanteau of their names would be

Goten and Kid Trunks (Gotenks) could actually be a problem if they really trained

Technically speaking Gotenks can go SSB.... They should have tested it in the present time and then sent him to the future. If he sees Black go SSR maybe he can do that too...

How nigga? They still didn't explain how Vegeta tapped into God ki. I know Gotenks only went SSJ3 because they saw Goku do it, but actually utilizing a certain type of ki seems like an important factor in this scenerio.

Vegeta tapped into it by training with Whis and learning how to naturally. He's still the Prince he better have an elite bloodline plus dude always puts in that work. Whis already said he trains too hard but is always focused. Same way him and Goku achieved the blue form just merely being around Bills and Whis while training their bodies to control their ki they just naturally did it.

If Mafuba locks away Zamasu and works, they still have to deal with Black who's still stronger than them. I'm assuming when they come back Trunks is going to be near dead and it'll be up to Goku and Vegeta's new power to divide and conquer them so Goku can hit off the Mafuba.

I'm still holding on to Vegeta beating Black and/or Zamasu.....

I still don't understand why they'd have a reason to fuse and I assume the Mafuba will fail if they do join up.
