dude is a legend but his personal life and escapades tarnished a lot of that. I hope he rebounds but it might be too late for'em.

his first 3 albums are classic to me, i hope he comes back with an album soon.

Co-sign. X was my favorite rapper at one point. If he came back hard it would be on some "All sins forgiven" type shit for me.

Jay cant flow like that in '11/'12

hes too deep in the pop scene to make hip-hop anymore?

best song in the last couple of years.. nice to hear a "traditional" hip-hop beat

Something Young Guru said in a interview i saw a few weeks back when he was talking about how hiphop "heads" come up to him and ask him to tell Jay to make a Reasonable Doubt type album. He basically said Jay-z fanbase is too diverse to give one audience everything and ignore his other audience, and it makes perfect sense.

Jay fanbase is much bigger and more diverse than Nas fanbase, it would be kind of stupid to alienate a portion of it to please some hiphop heads. That's why he sprinkle his albums with something for everyone.

the closest album to Reasonable Doubt in jay's catalog is american gangster, and thats his lowest selling album i believe

on the internet, they like "you should spit it"
im like "you should buy it nigga, thats good business"

I'm sure jay has the talent to make a song this dope he just wont. They are both great artist but represent two different aspects of hip hop. Nas is the essence Jay is the ever changing face. They shouldn't sound alike although I would love to hear jigga rap over a boom bab beat

it doesn't make sense for him to "alienate" a portion of his audience by giving them what made them fans to begin with but it's cool for him to dumb down his lyrics and alienate his core audience to double his dollars?
