Floyd Mayweather Says People Should Worry About “More Important Things” Than the Bill Cosby Scandal
Floyd Mayweather made an appearance on the TMZ Sports TV show last night for an interview and was asked about some recent comments that he made regarding Conor McGregor, Ronda Rousey, and racism. While speaking about them, he also touched on the Bill Cosby scandal and suggested that people should be worried about “more important things” right now as opposed to the “stuff with Bill Cosby that happened 30 or 40 years ago.”
“Racism still exists,” he said. “That’s no different from the Bill Cosby situation. What he did is not right, but there’s so much police brutality out there. There’s things that we don’t talk about. There’s a lot of young black males and females being killed by police, being beat up by police, but those are things we don’t talk about. We would rather talk about stuff with Bill Cosby that happened 30 or 40 years ago.”

WBA President Gilberto Mendoza Jr. revealed to ESPN Deportes that he denied the request. When Mayweather is officially removed from his current position as WBA 'super' champion at 147 - then 'regular' champion Keith Thurman will assume that position. Mendoza wants to limit the amount of champions in that division to two (David Avanesyan is the WBA interim-champion). - See more at:http://www.boxingscene.com/garcia-g...per-title--100121/mobile#sthash.F8TWKS2e.dpuf

Bob Arum Explains Why Terence Crawford is Facing Lundy
By Steve Kim
On February 27th from the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York, WBO super lightweight titlist Terence Crawford (27-0, 19KOs) will defend his belt against Hank Lundy (26-5-1, 13KOs) as the main event on HBO. It's a match-up that has come under some scrutiny.
Bob Arum, who promotes Crawford, claims - "(Mauricio) Herrera turned him down, (Ruslan) Provodnikov turned him down, that's why we ended up with Lundy."
Moving forward, will Top Rank be able to entice fellow 140-pounders to get into the ring with the talented native of Omaha?
"Well, when this thing straightens out and people realize that the money is the money, they're going to fight him," said a frustrated Arum. "These people are now so unrealistic about the money, fighting a fighter of Crawford's ability, of (Gennady) Golovkin's, it's ridiculous."
When asked if the caution displayed today by boxers and their managements is worse than ever, Arum answered flatly,"Absolutely."
Why is that?
Arum, taking an obvious shot at the Premier Boxing Champions, opined,"Because of the insane purses that are being paid with Waddell and Reed's money."
