It's goin down 2 ways...If Canelo shows some major improvement in his conditioning and stamina, he's gonna out box him.

or Canelo wears down from body shots that Angulo might catch his ass with cause he's gonna try and fight on the inside, KO later rounds..

Canelo could be looking like Lara in this upcoming fight.

This nigga said Kirkland though. Damn, when they fought Kirkland was in his prime. Imagine if they put Canelo in with Kirkland back in the day. You were looking at a fight that wouldnt have gone 6 rounds as he would have KILLED Canelo. Nowadays, totally different outcome more than likely.

Yeah Bradley knew he would get the manny fight if he signed with TR. He sat out a while too and then came back and fought Casamayor old ass.

I don't think he was scared of khan at all.

Looking like Khan vs Collazo, Broner vs Molina, and Porter vs Malignaggi for May 3rd.

All on May 3rd???

Supposedly. Showtime wont make Khan vs Broner because it loses them money. May vs Maidana already brings in the bucks so it will be like giving that matchup away for free. Card should be released in at most a week, these dudes got to start camp.

MGM Grand the big winner as Floyd Mayweather announces he’ll fight Marcos Maidana in Vegas

Mayweather has fought his last fought his last eight bouts at the MGM and has appeared at the Garden 11 times overall since he turned professional in 1996.

Mayweather's decision makes a huge winner of the MGM Grand, which now has four massive pay-per-views over the next three months. It is hosting Canelo Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo on Saturday. It has Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley II on April 12, Mayweather-Maidana on May 3 and UFC 173 featuring a middleweight title bout between Chris Weidman and Lyoto Machida on May 24.

The Barclay's Center in New York made a bid for the Mayweather-Maidana fight, but it was always a massive longshot to land it because of the tax situation and the cost of doing business in New York. There is no income tax in Nevada, but it is 8.82 percent in New York for those earning over $2,058,550. Mayweather is expected to be guaranteed 15 to 20 times that amount.

Mayweather made the announcement, as he has done with most of his major news recently, via Twitter. He wrote, "I will be fighting at the best place on Earth on May 3rd… the MGM Grand."

Leonard Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, said it was his duty to investigate all offers and that at the end of the day, the decision belonged to Mayweather.

"When you're making a decision of this magnitude, you have to consider everything," Ellerbe said. "You have to look at everything, from top to bottom, and make certain you've covered all of your bases. It's simply smart business. We took a look at every offer that was out there and then Floyd made the decision.

"He loves fighting in Las Vegas and he has a great relationship with the people there. This [delay in announcing the venue] had nothing to do with the MGM. It was just about doing our business the right way."

Ellerbe said there will be no promotional press tour. Last year, Mayweather and Alvarez crisscrossed the country and appeared in Mexico on a nine-stop tour that greatly aided the 2.2-million pay-per-view sales.

Tarver Released From Jail: Credits Haymon For Help - Boxing News

By TMZ

Antonio Tarver has just been released from a Florida jail ... and tells TMZ Sports he plans to hit the gym tomorrow to restart his boxing career so he can pay back his $200,000 debt.

Tarver was locked up in FL on a warrant from Nevada -- stemming from allegations he never repaid the Wynn Las Vegas on a $200,000 gambling marker from a 2012 gambling binge.

But Wednesday evening, Tarver says famed boxing manager Al Haymon spotted him the cash to post bail -- and he was released from the Pinellas County Jail. We confirmed Tarver has been released.

When we spoke with Tarver, the 45-year-old insinuated that Haymon ALSO spotted him the cash to repay the entire $200k debt to Wynn.

"It was a debt that I had," Tarver admits ... "a hiccup in the road."

Tarver says he's hard up for cash -- and hasn't "made a dime in two years" -- but vows to repay his debt to Haymon with his fists.

"With Al, it's all about friendship first ... I'm gonna pay him back by becoming the next heavyweight champion."

Antonio -- who fought back in November (and won btw) -- says he plans to hit the boxing gym first thing Thursday morning. Stay tuned ...

Schaefer: Khan-Broner - Not Now, Maybe in The Future

By Rick Reeno

For the last few days, former champion Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) and Adrien Broner (27-1, 22KOs) have been trading words on the social networks. The tension first began when Floyd Mayweather Jr. promised Amir a future fight, but only if Khan was able to defeat Broner.

While Mayweather would like to see Khan and Broner trade leather on his May 3rd undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Schaefer indicates the fight won't happen in the immediate future.

The biggest reason for delay, says Schaefer, is both fighters are going in totally different directions in terms of their planed career moves.

Broner, following last December's decision loss to Marcos Maidana, told Golden Boy that he plans drops to down in weight to pursue a title at 140-pounds. Last June, Broner jumped from 135 to 147 to capture the WBA welterweight title from Paulie Malignaggi.

Khan, inactive since last April's win over Julio Diaz, advised Golden Boy that he plans to campaign as a full-fledged welterweight and wants a significant fight or two in order to land a Mayweather shot (should Mayweather beat Maidana on May 3).

"I think it's a great fight. And you know that I am not a marinater, but I can only make fights when they can be made. Having said that, Adrien is thinking about moving down in weight to 140, which is something that I certainly support and endorse. I think there are certainly some big fights for him at 140. He sort of rushed through these divisions and in the process left out the 140-pound weight class," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

"I think sometimes you need time to grow into these divisions and grow into these fights. He could go to 140, have a couple of fights and then move back to 147. That's a blueprint and a career path that I would endorse."

"Obviously we know that Amir wants a Mayweather fight. For Amir, to move up to 147 is the right path for him. I think hanging around the 140-pound weight class doesn't make any sense for Amir and he's been fighting at 140 for a long time. I know that as he gained muscle mass and moved up in weight, he feels better than he ever has. Virgil [Hunter] has been telling me that as well. He feels strong, he feels good. For him to go back down to 140 right now, it would make no sense."

"It is one of those situations where we are going to eventually see that fight [between Broner and Khan]. You know Rick, and the fans know, that I am not a marinater. I get the fights done and I think I have a track record to prove that. In this particular case, I see Adrien doing a couple of fights at 140, and then Amir doing a couple of fights at 147 and then possibly facing Mayweather - depending on the outcome of the fight with Maidana. I see that scenario as being more likely than Amir and Adrien happening right now."
