Waiting for these Spence vs Peterson tickets to go on sale.

NYC I'm coming back again Jan 20th!!!!

Never really been a homer type of person. Even though Peterson from DC and I want to see him do well, I'll be rooting for Spence cause I'm more of a fan of his.

Spence gonna stop him early

I don't see that happening unless the long lay off and Peterson turning 34(age catching up) the week after the fight plays a factor.

Feel the stoppage could come between rounds 8-10 though.

UFC prez White seeks boxing promoter license

UFC president Dana White, who helped build the mixed martial arts promotional company into a multibillion-dollar business, plans to begin promoting boxing as well.

A lifelong boxing fan, White appeared with Hall of Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach at a speaking engagement at the trainer's Wild Card West boxing club in Santa Monica, California, on Tuesday night and told the gathering that he is "getting into boxing, 100 percent."

He also said that he is in the process of getting a promoter's license, according to the Los Angeles Times.

White convinced friend and casino magnate Lorenzo Fertitta to buy the struggling UFC for $2 million in 2001, and last year he sold the company to Beverly Hills talent agency WME/IMG for $4.025 billion.

As part of the deal, White, who owned a percentage of UFC and made around $400 million on the sale, agreed to remain with the company for at least five years. So he's not planning to leave UFC, but rather wants to incorporate boxing into the company's promotional portfolio.

"No, no, no, I'm not leaving the UFC. I'm getting into boxing with [WME/IMG head] Ari [Emanuel], and the UFC will be doing boxing too," White said, according to the Los Angeles Times. "It's still early. We're still working on it. I've got to get my [stuff] together, but I'm getting into boxing, man. It's coming."

White got a big taste of boxing promotion over the summer, when he was an integral part of the promotion of UFC star Conor McGregor's boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, the longtime former pound-for-pound king, who came out of retirement for the fight.

Mayweather knocked out McGregor in the 10th round of the Aug. 26 fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas that sold approximately 4 million pay-per-view buys and became the second-highest-grossing fight of all time behind Mayweather's 2015 welterweight title unification fight with Manny Pacquiao.

During the promotional tour for Mayweather-McGregor, White hinted at his future as a boxing promoter by wearing a T-shirt that said "Zuffa Boxing." Zuffa was the parent company of UFC before it was sold to WME/IMG.

Tuesday's appearance at Wild Card West was part of a conversation with producer/director Peter Berg, a longtime friend of Roach's who is a boxing fan. During the talk, White reflected on his passion for boxing.

White did not immediately return a message from ESPN seeking comment.

Those skeptical of White's move into boxing include promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, who has said that the reason White plans to try his hand at boxing promotion is because of UFC's recent poor pay-per-view sales and the lack of a star fighter other than McGregor.

Yeah, he did J-Rock dirty. I won a nice lil' chunk of change on that fight.

the way he caught the 1,2 then transitioned into offense was just masterful

Williams left his guard open after throwing the 1-2 haha. Charlo was skilled enough to take advantage of Williams lapse in judgment.

Mikey Garcia Rejects Golden Boy's Linares Offer, Explains Why

By Miguel Rivera

WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) explained that a better economic offer to return on January 27th was what made him reject a proposal from Golden Boy Promotions to stage a unification with WBA champion Jorge Linares.

As BoxingScene.com reported last week, Garcia met with Golden Boy President Eric Gomez in an attempt to reach an agreement for the Linares fight.

The meeting went well, but Garcia received another offer for a Showtime televised fight that was even better than the 50-50 proposal from Golden Boy to face Linares.

Garcia is still very much interested in fighting Linares and plans to discuss it further after his January return. He hopes to speak with Gomez in the near future to work out the financial details for a Linares bout.

"[The deal] could not happen, but I was with Eric Gomez that we will be in contact to try to make the fight after this fight," said Garcia to ESPN Deportes.

"I have more options, in fact compared to what I [was offered for Linares], the guaranteed purse is better [for January 27] - although the fight with Linares - I would love to do very much, but we must take into account the business side of things... just as Golden Boy is looking to do what's best for their company, I am also looking to do what's best for me."

One of the opponents being kicked around to fight Garcia, as BoxingScene reported several weeks ago, is IBF lightweight champion Robert Easter.

Garcia started off 2017 with a vicious knockout of Dejan Zlaticanin to capture the WBC title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He came back in July, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, with a dominating performance over former four division world champion Adrien Broner. The fight with Broner took place at the junior welterweight limit of 140-pounds.
