Arum said he likes the idea of Vargas vs Marquez next. I got Vargas in that fight if it happens

That's a close fight Vargas height will give Marquez issues.

Yeah and I'm not sure Marquez is gonna be the same with the layoff and injuries. Might come back like Martinez in the Cotto fight

Lomachenko vs. Walters Headed to Garden's Big Room, June 11

By Steve Kim

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum has told BoxingScene.com that while Vasyl Lomachenko (5-1, 3KOs) and Nicholas Walters (26-0-1, 21KOs) are still on a collision course it will not be on April 30th as originally planned.

Walters was last in action on December 19th, when he went to a controversial twelve majority draw with Jason Sosa in an HBO televised bout. Lomachenko retained his WBO featherweight championship last November with a tenth round knockout of Romulo Koasicha as part of the Tim Bradley-Brandon Rios card in Las Vegas.

"We're doing that fight, we're looking to do it in New York on June 11th," said Arum, who has intimated that young Puerto Rican star, Felix Verdejo would be fighting this weekend as it's the day before the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Last year, Verdejo headlined at the Theater of MSG against Ivan Najera on this weekend.

But this time around he could be fighting in front of many more fans.

"We're going to go to the big room of the Garden,"stated Arum, who's company has a hold on that date.

Verdejo is coming off a ten round decision over William Silva on February 27th at the Garden. He is now scheduled to fight on April 16th back in Puerto Rico on a card that will be televised by UniMas.

Guillermo Rigondeaux Out Of Dickens Fight With Visa Issues

By Elliot Foster

Guillermo Rigondeaux is out of his next fight after suffering visa issues.

The Cuban, who is a two-time former world and Olympic champion, had been training for a 10-round clash in the UK this Saturday.

Rigondeaux (16-0, 10 KOs), 35, was set to take on British super bantamweight titlist Jazza Dickens (21-1, 6 KOs) at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool on March 12, exclusively live on BoxNation.

But the showdown, which was due to form part of the undercard to Terry Flanagan’s WBO lightweight world title defence against North West rival Derry Mathews, has been canned after the superstar –– who last boxed in November –– couldn’t get into the country.

“We do not have a visa,” Pedro Diaz, his trainer, confirmed on social media.

“The application made [for the visa], it wasn’t the right one [and] we can’t be in the fight.”

When the contest was announced last month, many fans were excited at the prospect of being given the once-in-a-lifetime chance to see ‘El Chacal’, but it now looks as though that chance has gone and a late replacement opponent will have to be brought in.

“Many thanks to [the] British Embassy in Moscow,” Diaz continued. “We all knew more than a month in advance that ‘Rigo’ would end his training camp in Grozny, Russia.

“We all tried in an excellent manner [but couldn’t get a visa] and we apologise to all the friends and fans, but it wasn’t our mistake.”

Boxing Scene has reached out to Queensberry Promotions for comment and is awaiting a response.

Thurman To K. Porter: Nobody Has Been Afraid To Fight Your Son!

By Edward Chaykovsky

This coming Saturday night, fans were anticipating a long awaited showdown between WBA welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (26-0, 22KOs) and former IBF king Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16KOs).

Last Thurman revealed that he was involved in a car accident and suffered injuries that prevented him from going forward.

The fight is expected to receive a new date, but there has been no word as of yet on when or where it will land.

Porter has been on shelf since last June's decision win over Adrien Broner. Thurman was last in the ring last July, when he stopped Luis Collazo. Porter plans to hold an exhibition this Saturday with rugged contender Lanardo Tyner, and then plans to wait until Thurman fully recovers from his injuries and is cleared to step back in the ring.

Fans were obviously disappointed with the postponement, but Kenny Porter - father and trainer of Shawn Porter - had his doubts about Thurman's injury claims. In several interviews, Kenny told BoxingScene.com that he wanted some concrete proof that Thurman was indeed injured and he never received any paperwork.

Thurman has read some of Kenny's comments and took offense to what the trainer was insinuating. He says the fight will still happen.

“I’ve heard Kenny’s remarks,” Thurman told Premier Boxing Champions. “I got a car that’s in the shop right now, bro. Nobody in the world has been afraid to fight your son. People have been beaten by your son, but nobody has been afraid to fight Shawn Porter.

“This is not fun. This is not what I wanted. At the end of the day, this is what has happened. It's a pushback, but it’s not a setback. We’ll be back in action soon. I’m really just focused on staying blessed, showing up to therapy and trying to recover as soon as possible.”

"...Showing up to therapy and trying to recover as soon as possible." Lmao! Thurman sound like a straight bitch. For a nigga that loves to talk, he been quiet as fuck lately, ever since it was announced he was fighting Porter lol
