This is my Summer Madness recap. Have never wrote on here and wanted to fill in fans with interesting tidbits that I didn't see anywhere else. Shout out to those who run this site. Very commendable job.

I was personally debating internally on whether I should go to Summer Madness 3 or not weeks before yesterday and I decided to give it a miss because Smack upped the price to 100 from 75 and I didn't think it was worth it compared to NOME 3, which had big names all over the card. That event was a disappointment because it was extremely crowded in a small venue coupled with the battlers not giving in their best as they usually do

So I got in around 9:30 thinking there must be a battle left but the cat who pushed me a ticket said there were five battles left and it was perfect because I missed two battles and got in for $40.

First reaction was great as the venue was intimate and there was space for us to stand. People could actually breathe. Jaz O was cooking Ms. Hustle. I would say Jaz 3-0 with Hustle probably getting that first round. They both lost steam by the third round though, especially Hustle. It was an entertaining battle and definitely wasn't underwhelming as I expected because we haven't seen women on a big stage like that before. Hustle was twerking with the ring card girl before the 2nd and that had the crowd bugging out.

Jaz 3-0

After that battle, Hitman, Con, Goodz and DNA came up the stage and were messing with Smack while Smack was saying Bars over Names. DNA started rapping dissing the Summer Madness emcees and the crowd boo'ed him offstage but he had us laughing when he said something like "Y'all can't respect me/Like last years Summer madness, y'all Eness me." Then Smack was asking the crowd if we want to see any of these guys battle and Smack said he didn't release Hitman and Con because he didn't like their third rounds(playing around) and wants them to rap it here for the fans. We were in a frenzy and Hitman was down but like always, Con was being a diva. Smack said he will release it between Tuesday and Thursday this week and if the battle doesn't get a million views in 48 hours, he's taking it down. DNA called out B-Magic and said he can battle him right now and Smack asked us if we want that and the crowd was mixed in their answers but when Con said B-Magic, the crowd wholeheartedly said yes.

Next battle was Rex and Calicoe and Calicoe got no welcome when he came on stage while Rex got a thunderous one. Rex went first and brought heat. We were all bugging and I was one of the few exceptions in the crowd who knew Calicoe would bring it because he got his soul taken last year by Lux so it was only right he would be bringing heat because that Lux battle would have won Cal the battle if there were some battle rappers other than Lux on the stage because Cal had great bars in that one. Cal started off even better than Rex and was screaming "I'm Back" after six bars because each bar was executed properly. Cal definitely got the first round. Some might give it to Rex but Cal had that. Their second rounds were solid but not as good as their firsts and that was a debatable round. The third rounds were the weakest from both but Rex had a few moments where he shined while Cal lost steam. Rex got the third. For me Cal got the first and Rex got the third with the second being debatable. Very close battle. I can't call it. Rex definitely has a lot of hometown bias. People adore him in the crowd and gets a pass for everything he says while others don't get the same treatment. Cats were treating Rex as if he's the best ever.

Reed Dollaz came out and said he is battling John John at Stage 48(doubt it now that it will be at this venue) on November 3rd. Reed said its time to get back to the bars and no jokes and show these new cats how it is supposed to be done. The crowd was a little disappointed as they wanted Surf vs Reed.

Ill Will and Tay Roc went next and I knew beforehand this would be the battle of the night because they have bars and it was their chance to shine. This was a classic. Both of them had bars and Ill Will edged it slightly to me. But cats that like bars and no jokes would give it to Tay. But it was a great battle and it made you wonder that if the top tier cats brought the type of performances these two brought, especially Ill Will, they would be doing better than where they are.

After this battle, cats were tired. Usually what happens at these events is that if there is a battle that had crazy amounts of response like the Will vs. Roc did. We all wanted JC vs John John but didn't get that and got Serius and Math instead.

This whole Serius and Math recap will be extensive because it is something that will not be seen on video. Beasley was bugging out on Serius upstairs and was screaming at him and we caught that. The screams were so loud that we could hear him with the music blasting. There definitely was an issue from Serius' side. I am assuming that it was Serius getting mad that his intro video( a video that can be seen on OTBVA Emcee Battles) wouldn't be screened and him and Beasley went into disagrement. Serius came out late with three naked women with body paint and there was a debate on time limits. Serius wanted longer rounds and Smack said four minutes and Math was saying we didn't agree to that. Math let it go and Serius went first. We all didn't Serius too seriously because he was acting immature that things were not going his way. It was surprising because he is the most veteran of them all in the Summer Madness 3 crowd. I personally felt Serius was very good in the first round but the crowd wasn't feeling it because his material was complicated which I personally liked, because it sounded different compared to what other guys bring to the table. We all were making fun of his girls because they were really dumb and at one point Serius was handing his glasses to one of the girls and she was so dumb she didn't know what he was doing and he got irritated and dropped the glasses to the ground and that offended the girl and she was walking up to him trying to put it back on him while he's rapping. Smack said time and Serius kept on going and it took at least three minutes to stop Serius. Math kept on saying Time Time Time and the crowd chanted with him and Serius asked the crowd if they wanted more and we said No and then he stopped. Math came with a sick rebuttal saying something like Take your top off like your three crackhead bitches. The crowd needed that because we were tired, other guys moreso because I came in late and didn't have the endure the pain of standing for hours in the line. Math was rapping well but

Out of nowhere, Math punched Serius. Serius went to the ground and it was chaos on the stage and we all were shocked for a good five seconds and Math left from the Exit door. I could not see how many times he got him but Serius was on the ground for a while(I would assume 20 seconds) and got right back up. I have a video of this(not the punch) and I turned on my phone video right when it happened. So, Serius was not down for thirty seconds or he didn't swing back nor did he initiate any type of contact to Math. He got into Math's face twice but that is something every battler does and there was nothing Serius did that made Math punch him. Smack came on the stage and said Sorry the night is over. Also, before this battle, they were rushing all the battlers because it was 12:30 and the club has a certain time limit(I'm guessing 1 am). Serius and Math were offstage and their entourage also. Out of nowhere, Daylyt and his crew jumped the barricades by the stage and went to Beasley and Smack and security separated them. Beasley was talking to us and was saying sorry repeatedly and said please let people know it wasn't us. He was pleading for us to go on twitter and battle forums and tell people it was not their doing. Guys were mad. People wanted their money but there was one synonymous chant and that was cursing out Math. Everyone wanted his head and we were angry to the point that if Math was there in the venue, he probably would have got bum rushed by the crowd. People spent their hard earned money and waited for hours and many people in the crowd wanted to see what Daylyt would bring to the table and many people didn't leave the Serius and Math battle because they wanted to see Daylyt. I went outside and saw Cortez and his crew talking to Daylyt and I heard Cortez telling Daylyt you guys need to understand that they(Serius and Math) were beefing for years and did not like each other and all of that came out tonight. Daylyt and his crew went to Smack outside and security had to separate them. I saw an ambulance driving by but didn't know if it was for the event or if it was coming from somewhere else. Cortez was trying amends with Daylyt by telling him he will try to tell Smack if they can do it outside but to no avail. Smack and Beasley were talking to fans and agreeing with them what did was unacceptable. They were visibly angry and frustrated and I saw a worry on their face that showed me that they were definitely worried what is in store in the future.

Security was telling all of us leave and was hounding us all the way by 47th street and 11th. They didn't want any part of this on their clock and cops came and were standing on 11th avenue but no arrests were made, at least until the time I hung around there.

Interesting tidbits

Battlers were really cool. I hung out with a few of them last time and tonight I was with Daylyt, John John and Hollow for quite a bit. Daylyt and I got cool in the club and he was using my phone to get on twitter periodically because his battery had died but he's a really cool guy. John John is very humble and I was telling him he has the talent to be up there but needs to stop the multiple choice and taking others schemes. I am a rapper also and can battle(nothing big, just small time) so I was talking to them musically also to see if they are about that life or just stick to battling. Clips was there and was all the way in the back. He definitely came as a guest and wasn't there to be with smack. He looked bunny like he came straight out of bed and was just hanging by the back the whole night.

Bow Wow was the only celebrity I saw there and he got booed when he came out to co host the Ill Will and Tay Roc battle.

Ms. Hustle got booed, Calicoe got booed, Ill will got booed(unwarranted), Serius got booed a bit.

I was going home and I saw Daylyt and his few trying to hail a cab and I would see the taxi drivers look at them up and down and drive right past. The way his crew was dressed, I knew these drivers were scared a bit. They bagged two white girls and those girls look like try were in awe and I was joking around with his crew saying you better not rob them now. His crew was cool outside of the surroundings but were intimidating to most inside the venue.

Hollow came later around 1 am and he remembered me for a previous meeting and we were just talking and I had asked him last night who will he battle and he had said a few names and I said narrow it down and he was saying jokingly, I don't talk to snitches. I asked him last night once again who will he battle and he remembered the previous incident and said, Bro I don't talk snitches didn't I tell you Haa it was funny. He said he will be battling soon and said Lux and him can still go down. They just have to etch out a few things. We exchanged phone numbers for music purposes and that was that. Really cool guy.

Last but not least, what Math did was inexcusable. People don't realize but he has three blots on Smacks resume. The Dose punch, last night, and he was the reason Armageddon didn't happen at Wesbter Hall last Decemeber because the Nypd had seen the video of Math punching dose and the rematch was going to take place that day and Webster hall deemed the event to be dangerous due to that. I like Math more than most but he gets away with it because Norbes is his manager. Norbes is one of the main guys in URL and that connect definitely helps Math out. He is banned for now but who knows, he can be back in a few years when the dust has settled down. Math has been apologetic but he really put URL and the fans in dismay as money was wasted. Really dumb move on his part.

Some fans are weird too because they get shocked when Loe Pesci doesn't do anything back to Daylyt and call him soft but don't realize that if Loe does anything, the whole event gets shut down and the rest of the battlers get paid without battling. These leagues are thriving now but it's still not a multi million dollar venture and it does hurt them financially when they have paid for hotels and airplane costs. Then you have Math on the other hand who gets physical but fans wrong him which is the right way to go. It is just a battle and should be kept that way. Cortez was telling Day that Math won't get paid a penny but he can take that risk because there was beef between Math and Serius and Math had to settle it. They really should settle it outside the venue. A battle is a battle.

PS. The funniest part of the night happened to me at the end. For New Yorkers, you know those spots that a dollar a slice? I was waiting for a dollar van to Jersey by it and guys with Detroit over Everybody shirts were eating pizza there. There was another guy there and he was asking them where are they from and where can he get the hoodies and shirts they were wearing. I asked them whose boys are they and they said Calicoe Landslide Landslide Landslide in unison. I said he did well tonight and said I felt it was debatable and Cal got the first and Rex got the third and they weren't too receptive to what I said about the third. I told them about the Math and Serius situation and they didn't know about it and were surprised. The other guy who was asking about the hoodies knew who Loaded Lux was but wasn't really into battles like that. He says..Loaded Lux would have never taken that punch. He would have given him that work like he have the guy he battled where he kept on saying You Gon Get this Work. These guys expressions changed and one of them got so mad he was going to check this cat. He asks the Loaded Lux fan, where you get those earphones from. I like those and looked like he was going to do something and the fan said right up the block by Port Authority and then one guy from Cals crew told the one who was mad to calm down and come in the car and they all immediately dispersed. It was funny to me because right when they heard the name Loaded Lux, their confidence and swagger cooled down some Haa. That's all folks.

I liked Day's point about how the event was promoted "Bars Over Names" and then you got Hitman and Conceited, who ain't on the card, wasting time on stage acting like they gon' battle just for show and bullshit, while they already way behind schedule and this nigga flew all the way out from L.A. wit bars waiting to get his rounds off. smh... Smack is disgrace

@masshood should hang around the IC a little bit more.

Thanks fam, appreciate it. I do hang around every day but visually. I like the people on here and always aim to try to post on here, but two vocations and college have me occupied. I will up the ante though.

another thing about cortez saying serius n math had past beef

why didnt math fight serius all those other times i saw them on camera together?

they was in the streets of ny, serius is always in ny doing interviews

why didnt math wash him out off camera n leave it at that?

why did he wait til a major event for the culture to be a nigga?

why he run after he snuck him, if i got beef with you, ima stomp you out then fight yo peoples

that nigga prolly planned that weak shit to redeem his self

he been trying this whole year to be in the fans good graces by battling alot n etc

but nobody was a fan of yours tho

he was just a punchline like joey jihad and etc

now he done fucked up potential classic battles n ruined the rep for battle rep to the big wigs

^^ Math himself said it ain't really about past beef. He said he didn't have a plan to do it and had three rounds written. Nigga genuinely just got frustrated, flipped out, and can't explain it in terms of anything other than that.
