I was gonna say Chilla and JC but ars and shotty came out about a month later. Despite it not being a better battle than JC and chilla, i still consider it a classic. Love those back and forth battles.

dont really care for either of these 2. if they do well they do well. This is a battle between 2 rappers who have great ideas or setups but fail to bring it home

Round 1- Easy round for Verb. Arsonal going on with no real point or nothing connecting. basically swinging with hopes of landing. some things do stick but going 2 for 10 isnt exactly killing it. I dont like Ars. But i dont automatically score against him when he does this. His opponent still has to WIN the round which i think Verb did but not overwhelmingly. Verb just was quick to the punch and kept it succinnt. Setup. Punch. that simple. nothing more than 3 bars. Some shit fell flat for him which kept this from gettin out of hand early

Round 2- This is the Arsonal i can see people going crazy over. Everything in the 1st half of his 2nd was flawless. Then he starts goin into i guess his "Disrespect Shit" and the wheels come off. Whenever he goes into this i feel like i just need to get ready for long winded sermons about dicks,moms,sex toys and cartoons. Just weird. Ars rounds was great up until the Dyke Mom part. With the Red Indian line sticking out after. Verbs was good but felt short as hell compared. Ill give it to Ars but its debatable

Seems to be this thing where people just prefer the person who scrunches their face up more or is just louder. The same things i hear people complain about with Clips & Chilla (long winded, set ups, getting to the point) others like Ars in this case get away with by masking it with "Aggression"

Round 3- Best round. The 1st half of Ars's 3rd was useless to me. Broke down Verb well but by the time he got to it he already was runnin on fumes.Dedicated less than 30% to the most important part. Arsonal seems to think reminding us 5 times a round he's in St. Louis is gonna get him extra credit or make his bars hotter....it didnt. Verbs was good but he's gonna need to find a new Closing gimmick goin forward. Might be running out of angles.

2-1 Verb. The 2nd half of Arsonals 2nd & 1st half of his 3rd lost the battle for him.

@Almighty Breeze respect for the breakdown....but people do complain about Ars rambling all the time. His delivery is more entertaining than Chilla's so he can probably get a little more leeway. In this battle...and I'll rewatch at some point...but he didn't seem to ramble in typical Ars fashion. If he did I don't think it was a lot.

This is why I criticize the flow and delivery of battle rappers while some are only concerned with the bars. It has to come out smoothly and the way the rapper alters the speed and tone/octave of what they're saying to achieve a certain effect makes a big difference.
