damn this same thread seems to come up at least once a week every week. there is no question that pac was better. big was a great mc and nothing more. pac was an all around artist and an even better mc. he had more substance, more flavor, and he was fearless on the mic. big never said anything that he wasnt allowed 2 say. his name was never mentioned at the rnc convention or by the vice president. pac poised a threat 2 the power structre. especially after he shot those 2 cops and beat the rap. big was just a good rapper. nothing more. nothing less. pac was a onvce in a generation type of artist who had the potential to chnage shit nationwide. big could rhyme and thats it. not even close.

Even tho' I'm NY born/bred, I agree. But personally I don't think either one was a GOAT. But Pac has a greater claim to that title than Big. Along with music, Pac has imitators. Big, nope. Pac has dope material before/after death. Big, not so much. Pac also had the acting thing. Big, er....um...I guess never got the chance. Unless you consider that one episode of Martin.

Guess you missed the part where I said Ya'll...

I guess based off your limited reading skills, you also think Big Pun is a lyrical god... If it wasn't for R&B niggas we wouldn't know who he is.

What does that flame bait of a thread have to do with your knowledge of Hip Hop? All it shows is that you are capable of coming to a forum and posting recycled nonsense that will never get resolved due to it all being OPINIONS!!!

Hes a waste of words hes a all rounded Shadyteam when it comes to his stanning ability with Big Pun, Tuoac

a true artist can draw inspiration and meaning from anything and then share their thoughts with the rest of the world in a way that people can feel. an artist can do, say, or write shit that no one has ever thought of in an unforgetable way. or an artist can take something that we all have seen 1000 times, make us notice it, and feel a certain way about it.

we all knew about teenage pregnancy b4 pac but he made us look at brenda and really understand her situation from the inside and out. the average rapper cant do that. big could never do anything like that. big was a great mc and could put words together. pac was an artist and could put entire concepts, thoughts, and visions together. then he would combine all that shit with history, current events, and pain to make that shit real and force you to respect it. you didnt have to like all of pac's shit but i dare any1 of u niggas 2 say u didnt respect it. that is the difference between and artist and a rapper. thats the difference between big and pac.

pac>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>big

now although a lot of bigs stories were fictional they played like movies in my head when I listened to them so i'm guessing thats art and from what I heard from pac i never got that...if i compared a song like nas's "i gave you power" to a similar song by pac "me and my girlfriend" i find nas to be more vivid, visual etc and find pac pretty bland telling the story....I think that this artist thing is pretty subjective because what you described about pac moving you i didnt get that same feeling

U Been Staring A Bar Full Of Black Dudes
Say You Wanna See My Scar And My Tattoos
When We Headed For My Hide Out, Act Right
I'm A Playa When I Ride Out, Thats Right

^^Pac lyrics tryna holla at a female basic/wack

Straight up honey really I'm askin
Most of these niggaz think they be mackin but they be actin
Who they attractin with that line, "What's your name what's your sign"
Soon as he buy that wine I just creep up from behind
And ask what your interests are, who you be with
Things to make you smile, what numbers to dial
You gon' be here for a while, I'm gon' go call my crew
You go call your crew
We can rendezvous at the bar around two
Plans to leave, throw the keys to Lil Cease
Pull the truck up, front, and roll up the next blunt
So we can steam on the way to the telly go fill my belly
A t-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch's grape
Conversate for a few, cause in a few, we gon' do
What we came to do, ain't that right boo [truuuueee]
Forget the telly we just go to the crib
and watch a movie in the jacuzzi smoke l's while you do me

^^Biggie's far more superior descriptive non basic lyrics tryna holla at a female

If you on suicide watch pac is the goat.

If you like mc skills and hip hop for storytelling, punchlines, good flow on beat and good delivery biggie is the far more superior mc it aint even close

Pac doesnt "touch me" as an artist some of u niggas need role models he's just a rapper a below average mc stop comparing him to biggie he's inferior to biggie and its a travesty to compare the 2 now biggie and nas would be a great comparison since nas is actually skilled

bi biggie had more complex rhyme schemes, punchlines and metaphors.

and better flow. he was more technically gifted than pac.

Pac had a broader range of topics in his music and was better at composing songs.

biggie was the better rapper

pac was the better artist
