The Official 2pac Versus Biggie Thread...

It was nice but BIG lost points for not saying names, that's lame in my book. It's also unclear if he recorded the track before or after Pac got killed. If he made it after Pac died, he lost.

Waits for cats to come in say that subliminals are what's hot in the street and shows how "creative" the artist is for making a subliminal.

IMO Hit 'em Up is one of the worsts disses I've heard...How can you call a nigga who constantly refers to himself as 'fat and ugly' fat and thinks its dope...dunno man

long kiss goodnight did nothing but subliminally talk about a deadman, while on the other hand hit em up made biggie literally catch feelings

hit em up>long kiss goodnight

cut the bullshit, can't change history

i dont even remember long kiss....pac roasted that nigga tho i dont care what he came back wit...big aint say no names or spoof the nigga in a video...pac won

he aint have to say a name, Long kiss went at PAC from a real nigga perspective basically saying "how you get robbed and shot.....blame me (meaning BIG and PUFF...and only make records in response.."

long kiss was the original ether....the only reason Hit em up gets more shine is bcuz they were both alive when it was released. Can you imagine BIG performing Long Kiss in LA, Vegas, , NY, Chicago, Bmore?????? woulda been EPIC...just imagine him at a show saying "slugs missed ya, i aint mad at ya while the beat cuts off....PAC legacy would be different if they were both alive when LAD was released and BIG was able to actually perform it. .....Just look at the videos of BIG performing Who shot ya!!!! but PAC fans dont wna hear that tho

what the fuck is a real nigga perspective? lol....i think its just where u from cuz most of ya'll up that way gone say biggie regardless...other regions aint wit that riddle mystery shit...just say what u sayin nigga...i dont take no cred from big being the nigga that he was and a cold ass rapper...but he simply didnt match up in this battle...he could have made a whole extra lyrical album about the nigga it really dont matter to me...but i aint from that region

I liked the energy on Hit Em Up. Long Kiss Goodnight was a good song, but Pac sounded as if he really wanted to fuck someone up. He was a great actor. The only fault I had with Hit Em Up was it had other cats on it. The talking at the end was classic...my 44 make sure all yall kids don't grow. Against All Odds is better than both to me.

It's hard to compare the two since Pac was openly dissing Big & Big played the background. Now, if it would have been a straight up battle where Big was openly going at his head, I think Big would have got him line for line. Hell, the best quotes from Hit Em Up was when Pac was talking, but he had that energy & was straight talking shit.

thats all im sayin...big would have got waaay more points if he just straight up went at him...they both legends...but pac roasted that nigga on some high school shit lol...i cant imagine how that nigga felt listening to "Thats why i fucked yo bitch you fat muthafucka"...smh...u kno? biggie coulda came on like "i served yo dope fiend ass mama u lil ralph s mouse lookin ass nigga" lol...but he didnt...

This is a tough one, Hit em up got straight to the point, it was classic Pac and the shit talking at the end was venom. Hit em up completely changed the perception of what a diss record is. Long Kiss on the other hand was also classic Biggie, using his storytelling abilities to tie in with the diss. It was subliminal but he got his point across, especially with that "I ain't ya" jab. And puffy can say that it wasn't about 2pac all he wants but his ad-libs say otherwise. I know a lot of people say that if BIG recorded this after Pac died he loses points, but weren't we all expecting some sort of response when LAD dropped?

I have to go with Hit Em' Up for the viciousness of it and how it set a new precedent for diss records

I still prefer Bomb 1st tho

People always bring up the fact that 'Pac died before this came out. Has it ever occurred to anyone that the song was recorded prior to 'Pac dying? Sh*t, Biggie died before Life After Death was released. If there's anyone to blame it's Puff. In any event, I think both songs are dope. Long Kiss Goodnight has the edge in my eyes as far as just rapping is concerned but I loved how amped 'Pac was. As someone already said in another post... that rant at the end was classic. I cry laughing every time he starts going off on Mobb Deep (poor Prodigy). Classic stuff.

Hit em up wasn't as great as people put it out to be. One the Outlaws are trash if it wasn't for pac these niggas wouldn't exist thats why they keep Pac's name in their mouth. Two it was based on a lie. Pac didn't fuck Faith which i think is a straight up BITCH move right there. But Faith dumb ass should have if this nigga is beefin with ya husband don't go fuck with him. The best part of the song was Pac talkin shit at the end honestly.

Man y'all tripping ... a battle is about getting your audience attention and that's exactly what Pac did with Hit em up. I mean from the first bar he set the tone ... "First off fuck ... yall know the rest.

Yes he got our attention but that was about it. Once u find out the the truth 80% of the song is thrown out the window. Now the rant was classic!!

The song was orginally recorded in the summer of 1996 when Pac was still alive...but BIG added that second verse after Pac passed....i got nothin but love for BIG but thats one of the biggest bitch moves ever

You're bleeding lovely, with you, spirit above me
or beneath me, your whole life you live sneaky
Now you rest eternally, sleepy, you burn when you creep me
Rest where the worms-n-the weak be
My nine flies, baptize, rap guys
With the holy ghost
I put holes in most, you hold your toast shakey
Slip-n-trying to break me
Look what you made me do, brains blue
My team in the Marine blew, six-coupe
Skiid it out, weeded out, clean it out
The block for distance is, given long kisses bitch

Big thought he was on some godfather shit touring all through Los Angeles, kickin it at the radio stations, attending award shows and parties just months after Pac got smoked like nothin happend. Them LA Niggaz aint fuckin around they caught Big slippin so the only way he could ever leave LA was in a body bag

lmao at you guys talkin like yall been there when Faith visted Pac....smh

'Hit em up' was Ether BEFORE 'Ether'. Some of yall need to stop fronting like it ain't shit. Yeah Outlaws sucked more than Karrine Steffans but Pac's shit was still gutter though.

'Long Kiss' is that raw dog no protection disease infected shit. BIG was dead wrong for some of them shots. And yeah it seems that song was done before AND after Pac got murked.

IMO... same verdict as Ether vs Takeover. Hit'em Up is the better more vicious dis. Long Kiss is the better song. (Still vicious in its own right though).
