Songs about corporate exploitation... Not simply about having a relationship with a corporation... This is America in some way shape or form your undoubtably going to have some sort of relationship with a corporate byproduct ... Whether it be your doctor that you to and get your yearly checkups from ... The grocery store where you by your food from ... The gas station were you buy your gas from etc etc ... Everybody has some sort of dependent relationship with corporate America for it is the way our society is set up ...so to try and critique his message simply on the basis of that is kind of incoherent ... As what he is talking about in the song had more to do with exposing instances of corporate exploitation rather than anything else ..

Now if you wanted to really make a critique he could have talked to the point of kanye representing a corporation (Nike) who has for many years used cheap labor from overseas sweatshops to manufacture their products ... But this shallow ass piece reverted to tired talking points instead ..

and yes many great artist have exhibited contradictory views ( nas, pac, etc). it's human nature. but ye has just been so flagrant with it making him an unconvincing proponent against consumerism, materialism, prison industrial complex, etc

for example, the song has protest rhymes about the lopsided black men in prison statistics, yet just a few bars earlier he’s flossing for listeners who can’t even afford dental insurance....smh

and yes he doesn't exclude himself from the issue, as the song states. however he casts himself as both the victim and a victimizer in the situation...which is crazy considering he's one of the worlds most influential artist
