some real interesting details on the new cba

• Every clubhouse will have a chef. Players are guaranteed to have two seats on every spring training bus ride. Teams are now allowed to pay players’ meal money in check cards. These are real rules.

• Players who haven’t appeared on a major league roster yet cannot chew tobacco on the field. Current players are grandfathered in and are allowed to dip in stadiums where it is legal. True story: The league employs people who, as part of their job, look at which players are chewing tobacco. They could conceivably be fined.

and supposedly the all star manager will no longer select the reserves

that will now be done by the commissioners office

GIVE ME ALL YOUR GOOD PLAYERS

Superstar White Sox left-hander Chris Sale is on the block, and it appears at least five teams are starting to separate themselves at the forefront of talks: the Nationals, Astros, Red Sox, Rangers and Braves.

This what heyman wrote today
http://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/heyman-latest-chris-sale-derby/

if these encarnacion to houston rumors are true id be shocked if sale ended up anywhere else but there

everything i been hearing from radio or reading has them being the most aggressive

sale for bregman + more

but im still holding out hope that dombrowski swoops in at the last second with a package headlined with benintendi but i really like bregman too

morosi reporting white sox are also more likely to move eaton than abreu

i think there is something going on with how sale/eaton fraction of the clubhouse stumped hard for laroche

and i think some of these teams know that

If I was a white sox fan This is the team I'd want to trade sale to the most.I've said it before benitendi/bradley,devers and kopech throw in swihart with another lower level prospect and I'm good.Red Sox need a top of the rotation starter more than any of the rumored teams besides maybe the braves. With dombrowskis history of trading young players/prospects they in the cut and they're not getting much pub right now it's the braves, nationals, dodgers in the rumors

But bregman or trea turner(I keep reading the nationals refuse to part with him) would be good headliners too

Just don't trade him to the dodgers

When sale ran his mouth talkin bout "the wrong guy walked out the clubhouse" you referring to your prez of bbal operations that never sat right wit me that dude is a head case.

word

theres only so much a person can take

kenny has much more restraint than i would have

i would not have a person cuss me out repeatedly

im sick of dude

id even throw in abreu to entice boston more (if need be)

sale, abreu and maybe a guy like dan jennings for benintendi, devers, kopech, rodriguez, swihart, travis, and basabe

sale would immediately slot in as bostons #1 and abreu would fill ortiz vacated spot

the white sox would get an array of top prospects

its a win win for both sides

Yea they could use abreu at the dh that's a better option than 40 year old beltran.I didn't even think about that

or they can switch hanley and abreu at 1b/dh cuz abreu has to be a better 1st baseman based off experience

red sox were 8th in era so i could see them thinking its not like they desperately need to trade all their farm system for a pitcher

throwing in abreu could change that though

with all these rumors out and with how sale is you pretty much have to trade him

his emotions is what fucks him up during games

aint no telling how he would perform with all this hanging over his head

This is nice but they should be thinking about october.Do they really want to count on david price, bucholz or rick porcello to win a playoff game down 0-2 or a crucial game 5 or 7? There's no difference making starters available in fa

David price is historically awful as a starter in the playoffs.Porcello is a #3-4 starter and bucholz sucks

Because of sales contract they gotta give up a lot.I can't think of any other situation like sales an ace in his prime on a super team friendly contract being available in a trade

Lol yup

Lol yup

cant rule out the white sox using a chris sale trade to unload salary -- seriously -- you know how this organization operates -- the idea that a team could take a contract off their books and reduce the prospect price is not out of the question -- getting pennies on the dollar for sale just to unload say a james shields would be real reinsdorf

these are the things i have to worry about lol

smh

it would set the organization back for years and probably kill what little of the fan base remains if they did some cheap shit like that

sale is their best chance to accelerate a rebuild they better not ruin the return just to unload a contract

All them gifs of sale snapping after a bad inning I use to think yea he a competitor

Then that laroche situation where he was mad vocal about that petty bullshit then was yelling at kenny williams in the meeting they had about adam laroches irrelevant ass son, then he made those disrespectful public comments callin williams a liar etc, then the jersey cutting incident happened and there were reports at the time that sale has spazzed before about other things in the clubhouse the white sox just kept it under wraps confirmed he's an unstable head case who can't handle his emotions.Aint no turning back

TRADE HIS ASS

because hes white

its

pitchers are a different breed it helps if the hitter thinks youre a little crazy

but let that be carlos zambrano who did that?

SHIT

D backs non tendered wellington castillo that's my dog bring him back to the cubs he can back up contreras

edit I know it's a pipe dream cuz other teams can give him a chance to start

I never wanted him traded in the 1st place unlike montero he can get runners out but he can't frame for nothin

Nice to have beltran back. Astros fans was still booing him because he didnt re-sign after the 04' season when he was killing shit. Im guessing this takes us outta the running for Encarnacion which is cool. We need another quality SP anyway.

some pretty decent players were non tendered

no idea what the dbacks are doing non tendering castillo

seems like if you are looking to trim payroll there are other areas you can attack

tyson ross was another notable one

his arm must be jacked up a lot worse than led on to believe

i dont see the cubs being big buyers this year

they did that last year and dont have a ton of needs + they have to start planning for next year FA and the coming arbitration years for their young offensive players

i think this offseason will have a few peripheral fa pieces

jay already added as a backup OF

probably a few lower cost arms for the pen and possible trades from the OF surplus for pitching but i think they largely decide to run it back minus fowler, chapman, hammel and ross but with healthier schwarber, rondon and strop

Yea and there's already like 4-5 teams on castillo they probably gotta trim payroll cuz of grienke

In october Ross had that same surgery as matt harvey that's a 4-6 month rehab but bruce levine said the cubs will look at ross plenty of other teams will too astros almost acquired him last year

I watched that '16 world series doc last night it was real good a lot of unseen footage.Maddon still made no sense for using chapman in game 6

you had a 5 run lead I don't wanna hear about you got get to game 7 like it was a 1 run lead in the bottom of the 8th 5 RUNS not ONE 5

That part when zobrist said 'I'd be lyin when davis hit that hr the curse didn't go through my head' made me laugh cuz I was thinkin the same thing at the time

theres no doubt in my mind the white sox are asking for something unreasonable in sale trade talks

theyll come down

i bet he moves by thursday

but im sick of reading gm's acting like sale is a marginal upgrade and their prospects are HOF'rs

if sale was a fa hed be getting 200 mil +

cut the bullshit

The Braves continue to talk to the White Sox about star left-hander Chris Sale, and while several big Braves prospects’ names have been exchanged, rival executives have noted that top prospect Dansby Swanson is not being made available in trade talks.

Braves general manager John Coppolella declined comment, per team policy.

The Washington Nationals are believed to have the same stance about their great young outfielder/shortstop Trea Turner, which is no surprise in that case.

The two NL East teams continue to talk to the White Sox nonetheless, as Chicago seems willing to consider young prospects, so long as they have big potential. The Chisox are said to like the Braves’ group of prospects.
