• Though Don Mattingly previously indicated interest in David Phelps starting, the front office prefers him in the bullpen. That’s why Miami is seeking another veteran starting pitcher to join Adam Conley, Edinson Volquez, Wei Yin-Chen (they’re counting on a big comeback) and Tom Koehler.

They haven’t ruled out trading Marcell Ozuna, Adeiny Hechavarria or Derek Dietrich but it would take a very big return, especially for Ozuna. They prefer to hold onto those position players but will at least listen if teams call.

for what its worth

I'd probably make this trade but I think archer would get more

Even tho I think cease will be a tor starter but that's mid 2018 at the absolute earliest that would be a tough trade to pass up.

i remember when matt bush, bryan bullington, matt anderson etc were all 'untouchable'

look how they panned out

thats why the white sox are insisting on a moncada or trea turner

because they arent high a lottery tickets

the cubs have been spoiled by recent prospects which for the most part have or already look to be panning out

but thats not every day

the cba really screwed over oakland fans in the worst way

it all but guarantees the As moving elsewhere since they cant pay the lease at one of the worst ballparks in the states

oakland might go from 3 professional sports teams to 0

apparently the cba doesnt put posting limits on japanese players or something

if true

i wonder how long it will be before the next yoan moncada/top draft pick goes to the NPB for a few years with a handshake agreement to be posted

When the details of the CBA came out, many speculated Ohtani would remain in Japan until he turned 25. But Sponichi, a Japanese news site, reported the Nippon Ham Fighters are going to post Otani after the 2017 season.

They'll probably have to adjust the posting system or tweak the international rules so he can get more dough

Technically, the Warriors play in Oakland.

The warriors are moving to a new arena in san francisco to start the 19-20 season

i will believe that when i see it

sounds like a can of worms

on some trump shit i could see someone raising the point of why should latin/japanese kids be allowed to sign for however much money a team will give them whereas americans are bound to the draft process and cap structures

itd be great if true though

talk about a bidding frenzy

theyre gentrifying the whole warriors fanbase

thats the one advantage of being in OKC

your crowd will never get replaced by rich tech business people

seems like atlanta wants a #1 starter for scraps

doesnt really work that way

seems like most teams are thinking that way

nationals actually believe they have the prospects to land both sale and mccutchen

only way thats possible is if they come up off trea

Yea I saw that Trea turner is untouchable and apparently so is robles.I don't know How they're gonna do that

Braves said swanson is untouchable too

Teams balking at the asking prices aren't being realistic, it's a poker game somebody will fold by giving in and meeting the asking price or the white sox will lower the asking price and accept prospects that aren't mlb ready

The Washington Nationals lost their closer from the end of last season, as Mark Melancon has agreed to a deal to become the newest San Francisco Giants’ ninth-inning man. However, they could be stepping up their efforts to land a big-name starter instead.

The Nationals are stepping up their attempts to land Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale, and may not be the only team doing so. The Boston Red Sox, among others, also remain involved.

latest on sale from heyman

Not really tryin to see sale on the nationals wish the red sox would do somethin fuck man

yeah if robles is untouchable i assume turner is going then

i cant see how they avoid one of those two going in a trade

im not sure if washington would be willing to make a huge move by going after sale and eaton but i feel that theyre on the cusp and its time for them to move some up and coming potential for known studs

theyve been linked with mccutchen but someone like eaton might be a even better option for what they actually need

i feel like its even better for the nats to try for davis and cain than to pay the high price for mccutchen

cutch

harper

werth

doesnt look like a good defensive outfield

you goddamn right yall gonna stop fronting

pitching is probably the most important thing when the playoffs rolls around and teams wont sacrifice a youngster, when theyre already loaded with young talent for a proven left handed and dominant ace?

get the fuck outta here lol

trading trea turner would be akin to trading corey seager at this point to me

i wouldnt do it unless its just straight up and even then i dont think i would
