I made this prediction back on April 22:

Somewhat bold prediction:

IF Cleveland can actually win the NBA Title, then the Chicago Cubs will win the World Series. When amazing things in sports happen, they usually don't happen solo.

This is the 2nd year where both teams are legit contenders to win their respective chips. I think they both get it done.

Now that I know the Phillies have no shot to play past Sept, I wanna see just how good my Negrodamus skills actuall are.

The cubs had the highest odds since last november they were expected to be good and win the world series

White sox scouts were out there watching Benintendi and Moncada, if they rob us of our farm system I can live with that but if we involve Betts I'll be sick, although I would still favor us to come out the AL this year

I wonder if the Sox are kicking themselves now for trading Espinoza, maybe Sale was off the radar at the time and they didn't take into account they might need him as a trade piece, SD probably had other deals on the table and Sox had to pull the trigger when they did, or maybe the White sox are asking for Betts or Bradley regardless of what prospects we are giving up anyway who knows, I'd really hate to see this year go to waste though I'm sold they should make that splash

Sale

Price

Porcello

Pomeranz

Wright

Barring Pomeranz or Wright aren't involved in the deal our rotation is now killing Cleveland's, say Betts is part of the deal

Bradley

DP

Bogaertz

Ortiz

Hanley

Shaw

Young

Vasquez

Holt

Red Sox/Cubs World Series

lots of speculation out there but the one constant among them is that the white sox want a teams top 5 prospects

honestly given what the yankees got for chapman and what the marlins gave up for starting pitching --= 5 top prospects doesnt seem like enough for sale -- i could see hahn asking for maybe the top 5 prospects + a young mlb established player -- i think theres only 3 maybe 4 teams that could actually come up with a package that would even come close to enticing the white sox to trade sale

the last two years though quintana has been outpitching chris and Qs contract will have him making $37 million from 2017-2020

sale: 138 R in 347 2/3 IP

quintana: 126 R in 343 1/3 IP

if im looking for starting pitching thats who im asking the white sox for not chris sale

i imagine you still have to come off something for Q but not nearly as much as for that rebel without a cause

another typical quintana start last night

pitches great

gives up 1 run

gets no run support

unreal the amount of run support hes gotten during his career so far

of all the white sox players quintana is the guy i wish they would trade -- not because they should get rid of him but because i feel sorry for him -- he is the consummate pro, takes the ball, gives you his best effort every time and just keeps throwing strikes -- he deserves to be on a real team with a real manager and a real front office and a real owner

not with these clowns masquerading as major league franchise

they were killing terry collin on mlb network the other day

collins said he was going to rest his closer but instead pitches him a 3rd straight game (the last one a day game after a night game) -- familia on tuesday night had converted his 52 straight save (3rd longest in mlb history) but the streak ended wednesday night when he gave up the tying and winning runs to stl -- ok that happens -- nobody is perfect even the best relievers have a bad night -- collins then tells reporters that familia is a litte tired after pitching 2 straight games so hes going to give him the day off thursday -- so what happens? the mets get to the 9th up 1-0 after a great start be degrom -- collins changes his mind and starts familia in the 9th -- he gives up 2 runs, gets 1 out and leaves 3 runners on for robles to clean up (he does) but the mets lose 2-1

im pretty sure collins is not going to be back for 2017

mets have a chance to finish with the worst team batting average with runners in scoring position in major league history (1969 padres hit .201 with RISP, mets are currently hitting .202) -- i dont see the mets making the playoffs and hes been involved in tons of controversial moves this year -- a year ago they were in this spot and turned things around with some major deals -- it going to be a lot tougher this time

I been saying I aint buying the mets, their offense sucks and if cespedes leaves this winter they'll have to trade 1 of those pitchers for a bat and they're gonna have to trade 1-2 of em eventually anyway cuz they won't be able to afford all of them.

Farm is barren they don't have many options to upgrade via trade.Having great pitching is cool and all but if you routinely struggle to score more than 2 runs it's being wasted.I'm reading they might get lucroy which could help

mets are hoping milwaukee will take darnaud who is injury prone and struggling to hit as a center piece of the deal for lucroy while taking low level prospects to add on -- brewers are not that stupid -- they are not going to want a catcher who is hurt and cant hit + i dont see them wanting major league ready talent as they will be FAs by the time they are ready to start being a good team in 3-4 years

milwaukee needs good controllable prospects which the mets dont really have (aside from pitching drafting position players has been pretty bad for them) + there are other teams that have much better prospects (indians and red sox) who theyre talking to

theres a chance both the mets and royals wont make the playoffs

Quietly staying afloat without Clayton Manning. Never would of thought Chase Utley would be one of our best players this year.

@ckfree got me intrigued about Quintana. His contract is very doable.

it has to be beyond frustrating to get so many no decisions and losses with little or no run support

at some point in time it has to get into your head

you get too careful and wham

im sure he thinks he has to be perfect

after a few years that would grow old for me

Yea it was a mets reporter pushin the idea of lucroy. If the indians or rangers really wanted lucroy(both teams been linked to him) they can blow the mets out the water so we'll see.

the indians are on lucroys no trade list

but i doubt they would be talking to them right now unless lucroy has already agreed he would waive it to go there

so safe money is on lucroy going to one of those teams before the brewers take a low ball offer from the mets

Betts is pretty much untouchable and I doubt the white sox have the guts to make that trade they're shortsighted

You got urias, potentially moancada & benitendi, lazara, profar, gallo(duke has chris davis or mark reynolds written all over him he strikes out way too much he would never headline any deal if I was a gm) as pieces you can receive and they still rather keep sale & quintana when the team is going no where with either.Red Sox gonna sign edwin encarcion this winter to replace ortiz as dh.
