as much as i love the white sox beating the cubs

i would rather have them beat a team in their own division but this is so typical white sox

just when i think they might do the right thing and sell i could see them making decisions on the next few years based on less than a week of baseball -- i can just hear jerry getting all excited because the playoffs odds bumped up from 2% chance to a 3% -- probably now has rick on the phone trying to buy some old veteran on an expiring contract

a quick look at the standings and the white sox have 9 teams in the al with better records and only 5 teams that have worse -- simple math shows that the white sox are in the bottom half of the al and some of these teams above them are going to add at the deadline and get that much better so for the white sox to even keep pace and stay around the higher echelon of the lower half they would have to add players and not sell

god i really hope the front office dont make franchise altering decisions based on a 5 game stretch

i was a little surprised the royals were shopping wade davis since hes fairly cheap for next years and certainly important to regrouping for next year but then i heard theyre asking for one of the top pitching prospects in baseball + some more

i realized they werent serious

chapman should be a little wild with a pitch once in a while to really make guys be afraid

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYXTV51GdUs

fastest pitch ive ever faced was 94 mph and you hear the seams rotate as its coming at you

it is really something to watch a guy throw the heat like he does and even the pitches that miss the strike zone guys pretty much have to make up their mind as soon as the ball leaves his hand if they are swinging because you cant really wait on a 103 mph fastball

the abreu AB was just unfair

1st 3 pitches

101

101

102

he then drops a 91 mph slider on him

filthy

Can't believe the cubs lost 2 in a row to these clowns. Not only that but to the back of the rotation.

Still don't know what bryant was doing last night in the 9th he gave away an out with that unnecessary maddon "aggressive base running" non sense when it would of been 1st and 3rd wit no outs and rizzo up down 1.They don't hit consistently enough.Only reason I aint really trippin is cuz the rest of the nl contenders have flaws.

san fran had the best record in baseball at the break and despite going 2-9 since

currently have the second best record (.590) behind only the Cubs (.596)

the reason being is that none of the leaders at the break have played especially well since

in their last ten games

orioles 5-5

indians 4-6

rangers 4-6

nationals 4-6

cubs 5-5

texas for god sakes has lost 6 of its last 7 series

2 to minny

1 to oakland

1 to the angels

fucking baez

The media giving russell all the props for the grand slam when baez's 2 run homer gave the cubs the lead & basically ended the game.I'm hyped for baez duke forcing his way in the line up

.287 ba 11 hr's 37 rbi's 2.2 war & a defensive whiz at 3 positions for a part time player aint bad

Cubs still struggle to hit they was getting no hit by this no name cat in his 2nd start who couldn't locate his fastball half the game.Offense has been average for a few months now that's my biggest concern they draw walks but stay stranding them

Soler supposed to be returning soon(even tho he's been horrible at the plate in his rehab) and jon morosi said the cubs and A's are talking about a josh reddick trade.Hoping the offense catches fire in september/october and they collectively have a good rhythm

yeah that game had a different feel than how it turned out and it was all baez fault

stupid ass get me over curveball

but its how the game should have been from the start

i remember when people didnt think he was gonna be good and then traded -- now hes a foundation player -- his power was way down earlier this year but he was able to cut his K rate way down as well -- now the Ks are staying at a very manageable rate -- the power is coming back -- the average is going up too

hes figuring things out

like hes always done

This had me hyped last night

wtf kind of pitch was that????

- me

He struggled to locate his fastball as the game progressed he did the same thing with bryant hung a curveball that ended up being a hr despite that he had a no hitter in the 6th smdh.Baez said after the game he waited for the curve cuz dukes fastballs were out the zone

well there goes my trip to wrigley

i cant stand visiting fans in my teams ballpark and i cant stand most northsiders in general

combine that with the high chance of losing and that is enough to keep me away

but i told myself if they win wednesday then im going thursday with the biggest mop i could find

but alas
