1) Because they didn't want to kill him. Who wants to kill a brother?

2) By him going out the way he did, he made a public display of his severed ties with the club. So now, the repercussions of all that stuff he did won't blow back onto the club.

Past that, he wanted to go out his own way. He didn't want to go out the club way because he was basically leaving that life behind. You're talking about from the criminals. He already fixed most of those problems. I'm talking about the cops. Dude just went on a one man killing spree. The cops knew it was him and they were looking for him. If he just let the Sons kill him and dispose of him, then the cops would constantly been on them trying to figure out what happened with Jax. Going out the way he did, the cops know he's dead, know how he died, and know that he was acting alone in everything he did. The club is off the hook even though everything Jax did was for the benefit of the club.

How quick you guys forget. Packer and the rest of the chapter presidents at the forum was trying to give Jax EVERY POSSIBLE OUT after he admit taking out Jury was a mistake. Even Jury's V.P. was shook and trying to give Jax a way out.

If anything, he going out publically, all the chapters can spin it to say that Jax wanted to go out that way, his own way. Nobody would think twice.

I could see Abel getting back to the SOA but then again, stranger things have happened.

To who? The only people who even give a fuck about that would be the other club heads. They stated in the episode that they wouldn't like it that much, but none of them gave a fuck. Right, they started off the show by putting it right in our face about JT and the motorcycle ...the whole mystery of it is what drove the first to nearly 3 season.

Soon as Jax asked Chucky to start working on the bike in the later seasons...you knew that bike was going to play a role in the end.
