respecting the struggle as something we all go thru..just on different levels. what will work for one wont necessarily work for the next.

sharing information about past obstacles could help avoid shit in the future.

learning from the good and bad without perfection or clean image being a reason to or not to listen.

Pac said it best man, age kills ya fire 2 fight. It'll be the youth that'll spark that change but not this generation. You got a house, job or maybe on your HOA board etc. a lot of black folks feel like they made it. Ain't no need 2 fight no more. No unity in the community and all we do is talk. My Unk is a high ranking Mason who I correspond with weekly in the south. Told me it killed his spirit when he spearheaded (in the early 80's) a charge to start a black bank. Had all the resources necessary but only needed the input ($ and some other things) from his lodge members. Them brothers couldn't wait to keep they $ with the white man. He still represents and fights the good fight but torch in us is just about burnt out. Something catastrophically beyond our wildest beliefs is going to have 2 us in order 2 jolt us out of this zombie trance.

put big money behind more opportunities.....

we can put trillions in other countries, building and boosting their economy

put a few billions behind the black community....

you know we got athletes....we got artist, we got scientist, we got it all, but a lot of them get forgotten because of lack of opportunities.....

niggaz with money needa invest in that shit....you got whole communities full of youth that's just waiting to be developed or wasted...

All of our solutions start on an individual level, so even if I don't have billions to give on an individual level, I can still put my mind, energy and resources into what I know needs to be done. Like a conscious effort to live healthy. I don't have to build the grocery store but I can plant a couple seeds and eat right anyway. I might not be able to build a gym on a individual level, but I can make a conscious effort to exercise regularly.

mindframe

this the first thing we all control. we allow certain shit to enlighten us or oppress us.

all the money and support in the world means nothing with a shitty mindframe...

i personally see we have a very strong mentality and mindframe and we get what we want when we want it.

we are better prepared for adversity and obstacles.... more than others

i just we see our worth.

we can truly globally shut shit down.

the head and the body is separated. that causes our running around misguided and seeing ourselves doing it at the same time.

if we got shit together....the level of potential....

yea.

i feel like gatsby reaching for the green light sometimes

be the change you wish to see

Co-sign. It all starts in the mind. And we do and have endured more than all people in existence, and we still shine.

But also I believe it only takes a few like minded people to be in alignment for major things to be done. 10 united are stronger than 100 divided. At this point I think we need to focus on strengthening our like-minded.

Stop competing with whites. Life isn't a competition, its not a race because there isn't a finish line..

Focusing on the basics should be important:

Family

Friends

Community

Etc

Mazlow's hierarchy is famous for a reason.

Build a house from the basement. Sure up the family structure, buy a house, keep the neighborhood your house is in safe and get involved in community activities whatever those might be and then work on owning property and businesses.

It starts with building up the infrastructure in black communities, and developing a useful network of trade and entrepreneurship. Our housing, schools, streets, local businesses, you name it, need investment. But to do that we have to clean things up when it comes to drugs/crime. Sad thing is you can't stay in the hood long after you gain a level of wealth, that has to change. But only happens when we resurrect black families to what they once were.

Black people have done everything that is being asked of us in this thread. We've built stores, schools, towns, etc. since reconstruction. We've reached every level of political office, usually at the expense of our agenda. It seems as if those accomplishments have been swept under the rug but they have been destroyed or taken through some racist legal device. What is needed, or what the solution to the problem the black community faces is to place ourselves outside of the proximity of racists exploiters.

I believe that requires a physical exodus of this country, or perhaps hemisphere. As long as we're here we'll never have the resources necessary to accomplish liberation from subjugation. Find a place where we can grow culturally, economically, etc. without racists interfering. Or we can accept our treatment and station in this society.

So a lot of y'all seem to have solutions, how do we START ACTING out these solutions?

I live by everything I proposed in the op. It's not in any way easy doing it alone, but it is what it is until I make the right connections. I don't personally know anyone I can build with or who are willing to build with me.

Shit's exhausting to keep it a thowwow...

All bullshit aside, one the main problems in the black community is a severe lack of economic empowerment in our own establishments. So, I took to the streets yesterday with a flyer to try to help the cause. My hope is by the end of the week, I can hit up every Black Owned business in Crown Heights to raise this awareness.

great advice, assuming most blk aren't already doing these things

I'd beg to differ

In cities were there are a lot of murders like Chicago I believe the best option is to vote in 3rd party candidates like the Green party, the Tea party or the Liberterian Party. Anything other than the Democrats. Because I honestly believe that the drug dealers are lining the pockets of some of them politicians, they're choosing to look the other way because they know that dealing drugs is a way for their poor residents to get money and/or they're lives and the lives of their families are being threaten by drug dealers.

WOW! Props @"Mister B." You're doing the same thing I'm doing! Holler at me if you want to build for real. I have a program that I'm building (It's currently called Unity In Motion but I'm changing the name). Brief description:

Unity in Motion is a collective of individuals, businesses and organizations who invest and wisely utilize each others resources, to organize, orchestrate, build, and create community services and recreational events, and to build sustainable businesses, community service organizations and public education programs that address and service the immediate and long term needs of the community.

My approach is the same as yours by just hitting up all the Black owned businesses starting in my neighborhood/city and expanding.

These are some of the things we're building:

This is the Non-Profit Body

A few of these programs are already in motion now...

This is the Co-op (for profit) body

The grocery store is first on this list. I think transportation and textile businesses would go well in this model as well.

We also plan to build a computer science program for free coding and graphic design classes for all ages; a sports and rec program/league; and natural resources and energy programs.

Let's build.
