The south does not have the best song in the country drake does. Drakes hook was the saving grace on that joint. Doesn't matter how great the verses are that hook make it popular.
I am a 76ers fan but a loyal dedicated one
Your city fliip flops on being a basketball fan depending on whos on the court and leaves games early to beat traffic its a joke.
The point is you cannot name me one city that as compltely taken over hip hop this year. Because all miami got is ross. And all every other city in the country got is maybe 1 guy who is decent there arent 5 or 6 big stars from 1 single city in the country which is my point every city loss and every region loss.

Nobody said Florida wasnt a Southern state. Thats where it is geographically.

I'm a speak slow for the short bus shorties: The city of Miami is on the East Coast. I-95 runs through it and the people who live there are mostly Northern transplants from NY and NJ. Miami was never a Confederate city. They never had slaves in Miami so it's not really a southern city like New Orleans or Richmond or Atlanta.
If you think Miami is in the Souf because of where it is on a map, then so is LA and Phoenix.

Maryland and DC had slaves but they aren't considered part of the South cuz they aren't below the Mason Dixon line.
Florida had slaves and was on the side of the Confederacy, but not South Florida cuz those cities didn't exist during the Civil War. So those cities don't have any history of being part of the traditional South that we talk about today when we break rap down into regions.

OK THENNNNNNNNNNNN!
KidLife10200;3086563 said:Yeah it's the South because it's on a Southerners album. Everyone on the album except drake is from the South. Drake is talking about a Southern Drink on the song. And the music video was shot in the South.
Lmao How was that first round ass whooping?
You act as if bandwagoners wouldn't have come out f he had went to any other team.
Again how does Miami lose when one of the hottest rappers out right now is from Miami?
Lol go to the hoods of Miami and tell if it's anything like NY. In fact you don't even have to. Regular people in Miami don't even like New Yorkers.
How is Miami on the East Coast if the whole of Florida isn't? does that make any sense?
Nigga what the fuck does that even mean?

KidLife10200;3088334 said:A bandwagon fan for five years... Yup!
Even though they got swept in 07, missed the playoffs in 08 and got knocked out the first round in 09 and 2010.
You see dumbass. A bandwagon fan wouldn't still have been a loyal fan seeing as we were trash after the 06 playoffs.

The South is winning right now hands down.
YMCMB is running the game and murdering the charts and then you have MMG making power moves.
After 50-Cent got on NY slowly crumbled but now that his career has been ended I think NY can make a comeback.
Monizzle14;3088365 said:lol you want a medal or some shit? You just realize what basketball was 5 years ago and you talking shit...and yet again the sport yall supposed to be king at both teams suck ass...now back to hip hop discussion

Monizzle14;3083936 said:I live in CT just north of NYC and I am the first to admit new york lost. The gun play lyrics got played out. People got cocky because they though since they were from nyc they were superior to other regions and what not. Niggas like 50 got full of themselves and fell off. Its clear to see new york lost.
But as i look at the rest of the hip hop world i dont see any region "winning" like a decade ago when it seemed there were cities like houstion atlanta chicago and florida really had their moment in the mainstream. Flash forward to modern day hip hop and no 1 region or city seems like they are "winning". Yes Wayne is from Louisiana but there aren't 5 other LA rappers that are hot. Big Sean is from detriot but who else is blowing up from detriot at the same time? Same with rick ross in miami its not like miami has 4 or 5 big time artists labels are trying to sign.
And of those top names in hip hop its been a tough summer. Big Sean despite getting the album out hasnt got his singles to skyrocket as high as he wanted to and he is back up for whipped khalifia. Same with Wiz yes he has a niche audience but hes not selling out arenas hes doing small venues of 4 or5K a night...thats not any bigger than he has been doing for the past year. People crying about how im on one is the summer jam are fooled because its not even top 10 on the singles charts for i tunes or as big as previous years big summer hits. And Khaled did 50K which is a loss.
So do you think any region is winning and if they are how?
Cigarello Slim;3088562 said:People should focus on the artist's quality of music as oppose to if their region is "winning"
knights;3088567 said:Miami. Khaled and Ross got shit in rotation every day.
NYC might've stumbled, but I didn't know the meaning of loss until I saw the 2011 Bay Area a.k.a. the Home of the Black Panther Party a.k.a. "We cosign White bitches calling us 'Nigga' 2011."
For that reason alone, NYC hasn't lost.

sionb55;3089347 said:Shit man I think NY has had the shortest reign of any region - think about they really only had from 97-2001 just 4 years, meanwhile the West had from 89-96 (NWA,Cube, Pac, Snoop, Dre, etc.) , & the south has had it since 2003 to 2011 an astonishing 7-8 year reign.
Even today.... look at who the niggas who got next are:
Curren$y
J.Cole
Jay Electronica
Big KRITFreddie Gibbs
Marcus ManchildRick Ross
ALL southern niggas.... NY has no excuses either - all the major labels are based their & its the biggest city in America, NY is big enuff & rich enuff to be its own country. Im sorry New York.
Shit aint been the same since Snoop & Tha Dogg Pound came thru & crushed they buildings. Real Talk.
