No, I'm saying just because he didn't stick to the same formula doesn't mean the album is whack. I never said anything in terms of comparing Jay to other artists or his own albums. I was referring to the fact that people who hate on the album have no legitimate reasons, ie that one you stated that it "didn't sound like Premo" or something to that effect.

I found the production to be wack....Young Forever, Haters, Off That, Venus vs Mars, Empire State of Mind, On to the Next One etc were all garbage songs to me. And aside fro DOA all the beats on the album were garbage imo. Lyrically its nothing mind blowing, nothing that would make me press the rewind button or nothing that would make me want to continue to listen to the whole verse or song. Its just not a good album period.

Again I said before this album was made to appeal to his new found fanbase and it worked.

So how is that a legitimate complaint as opposed to just hate? You basically just said you personally thought it was garbage and ignored what he was obviously trying to do.

Btw: You actually like 100% of the songs on albums you think are good?

Huh come again I just told you why I felt the album was weak/wack.. the production is subpar and lyrically its just so so how is this hate? Im not a mind reader so IDK what Jay was thinking so since you can read minds why dont you just tell everyone what he was trying to do...from what I got from the album to me was he made music to target an audience that wasnt rocking with him from the jump. ie shitting on most of his original fanbase.

I really dont like any of the songs on the album it just not good music to me even a song that Jay said something decent like Star is Born suffers from a horrible beat and even a more horrible singer on the hook..

What I mean is, a legitimate criticism would be something objective and unbiased. You don't need to read minds to see the intention was to fuse his sound with something new and different. Just look at the cover of the album and consider the name and then put 2 and 2 together. You look at the production and think sellout, which is exactly what a biased person would say.

No I look at the production and think its just not any good. Legit criticism is the production isn't that good, legit criticisms is lyrically its avg and neither are anywhere close up to par with his best work and the BP 3 Musically and lyrically is one of his worst efforts of his career. Im not biased Im fan of dude got every album except That Dynasty Effort Im speaking as fan.

Like I said if his focus was to try something new and different to attract a different audience then he succeeded with flying colors...but if he was try something new and different (which it really wasnt when) to make good music to me he failed miserably.

U coming off as Jigga Dickrider whose feelings hurt that I dont like the album so who are you to say whats unobjective or unbiased?

Statements like "production is no good" or "lyrics are average" are not objective criticisms and really don't answer the question of why it's whack. There's no context or specifics in what you're saying. It's just blanket statements that anyone could say about any album.

The same can certainly be said about anyone arguing the complete opposite.

Im starting to think your an idioit ...I mentioned the beats arent any good cause to me aside from DOA which I feel is the best song on the album alot the production comes across sounds more like something David Guetta or Will I Am and Euro/Techno rather than DJ Premier which stems from Jay trying to do something different and failing.

IDK maybe you like Jay-z rhyming over Euro techo influenced type beats..thats your choice I dont and there are others whose done it and did it better for example Busta with Touch It or Kanye with Stronger.

Now do you understand or do you still need specifics for your slow dickriding self?

Stats don't change the music already pressed to the wax. If your opinion on something changes just cause it won awards, or broke records, kill ya self

That being said, American Gangster is my favorite Hova album. BP3 had some nice tracks but not a lot.

I'll give you reasons if you want.

My statement that there's no legitimate reasons here for why the album is whack is totally objective, and does not make me a fan or hater. So I don't know why you think I'm a "dickrider" because I point out that your reasons aren't objective. I'm sorry if it's difficult to understand, but not liking Techno music and wanting Jay to make another Reasonable Doubt don't make BP3 whack.

I could care less if some suits in a boardroom heap accolades on BP3. the production lacked SOUL and Jigga didnt sound hungry.

Euro-Jay made safe album to please the Euro crowd.

empire state of mind

so ambitious...

Man...i was feeling this cd...and those songs can still get played!!! its not his best...but its far from wack....I was the biggest Eminem fan in 98...lol..used to listen to the wakeup show to hear his freestyles...b4 people even knew who he was...or that he was white...but his songs have very little replay value...only song i stay fucking with is...Still dont give a fuck...and bad meets evil.

But back to BP3...it be jamming!

SMH @ "Off That". How does Jay, Timbaland and Drake make an average cut like that? but Jay and Kid Cudi almost drop a near Classic with "Already Home"? "Off That" was the 1st time I felt Jay and Timbaland's chemistry is finally falling off. Well it's been fallin off this decade but they atleast dropped "Dirt of your shoulders". "Reminder" was another bad Timbaland beat. I agree with those saying that some of the weak or average tracks really hurt the LP and they do. "Empire" and "Run this Town" are the only truly Classic tracks to me. It's very rare Jay gets outshinned so KanYe's verse on that really helps the song in my view. Like I said it's in the bottom half of Jay's catalog but the album did make history.

"Off That" is easily the worst Jay/Timbaland track to date. I agree that it's surprising that Jay, Timbaland, Drake came up with that. I thought "Reminder" was cool and "Venus vs. Mars" was dope even though I think that "Venus vs. Mars" is a vintage Timbo track that would've been perfect for Missy. I still think the chemistry between Jay and Tim is still there, but I think the lackluster Tim tracks have more to do w/ the "Blueprint" series than their chemistry. The worst of the Jay/Tim tracks have all been from the Blueprint albums.

As a Jay fan I thought the album was avg at best, a couple good tracks but not really any replay value after the first couple of months. The only classic historic Jay albums that shit get played from me are Blueprint 1, Black album and Reasonable doubt
