lol Ive seen PLENTY of stray dogs, I try not to be close enough to see if theyre feral or not.

Ive seen stray dogs form packs like wolves here in Detroit lol , somethings gotta be up with that

Smh...you would think all that money niggas put into companies trying to be fresh; at least one would step up and lend the city a hand. Not one single fuck...

that includes rich black folks too I assume

SMH @ Oprah shopping for $38K purses but black folks still don't manufacture shit of substance

I might need to hit her up for some venture capital money myself while I'm sitting here thinking about it

:-?

Everybody bruh...every single penny that has been spent. Shit is a shame what's happening to that city for real.

So Detroit is just going to participate in The Purge n shit?

50,000 chances to get attacked by aggressive pitbulls, should be a great selling point for the Detroit Tourism Board.

I'm still wondering how a major city in the US can just get left to turn to shit like this smh.

White Americans want the city for themselves.... Run the city to the ground reduce the value of everything buy it cheap and rebuild it once the majority of the current occupants of the city move out to other areas.

@jusdre313 do they really not use street lights in some areas at night now? Have you witnessed people squatting on a house first hand? How long does it take for the cops to respond to a call? Are there any abandoned houses on your block?

Are there any redeeming qualities about the city that wouldn't be reported on like these negative issues?

@jusdre313 do they really not use street lights in some areas at night now? sorry for the titan but u asked a few questions

yeah man i was gone in the AF from 2004-2010 so it was a bit of a shock once i moved back to the D its always been bad.. but the recession sent it to another level.... yes there are areas that they will not use street lights my hood is one of them they dont shut em all off but a good 75%.. the cities justification of it is to save money.. i dig it but IMO that puts the safety of your citizens at risk.. but hey who gives a fuck about that right.

Have you witnessed people squatting on a house first hand?

hell yeah niggas squatting like crazy.. its literally thousands of abandoned homes here (*way more than what gets reported).. why live on the street when u can live inside a house.. this doesnt even bother MOST neighbors unless u making the block hot

How long does it take for the cops to respond to a call? couldnt tell u.. i would never call them.. like if i was shot or something id take my chance driving myself to the hospital (if all possible ofcourse).. Charles Pugh who was a a city councilman and former local reporter, his bro had a heart attact and the cop car arrived and ended up taking him to the hospital in his squad car because the ambulance takes to long.. he ended up dying. i once read its only 14 ambulances covering the city.. EDIT i did call them once.. it was a abandoned car left torched in a empty lot across the street from the crib. they came and got it after a month, and yeah our population has dropped to about 800k which aint shit but our CITY is still fucking huge.. i think that something alot of people dont realize how LARGE detroit is (i think were like the 7th largest in the country).. the cops are a joke.. they wont really fuck with u for petty shit.. but they also wont be there when u need them..i always say dont make urself a victim/ pray u will never need to call the cops.. fucking sad if u think about it but its a reality

Are there any abandoned houses on your block? yeah about 2 on my block.. which is actually low as fuck.. my boy stays in an area where on a 5-7 block strip where its 60 houses on a block atleast 50-55 of them are abandoned.. shits mad depressing riding in his hood

Are there any redeeming qualities about the city that wouldn't be reported on like these negative issues?

i would say that there are some people who truly care about the city and is trying to improve it. growing gardens in empty lots (i see this alot) creating local fruit and veggie markets. rebuilding downtown.. downtown was always been shitt but alot of the areas are cleaned up. also in Neighborhoods (like mine) where the residents OWN and take care of their property majority alot of the bullshit doesnt exist. neighbors looking out for one another but that shit is FAR and inbetween. of the negative shit ur hear about detroit is usually shit that stops soon as you leave the city limits. right outside the D is night and day for the most part. But im not one of those cats who feels the city has the abitlity to bounce back.. i mean anything is possible but the D needs a change in its mentality but i dunno u probably better off asking @Jono or @alvarez313 (their way more intune with the city issues than I am) . I aint one of these dudes to lie and front like Detroit is an harmonized niggatopious Some shit reported is extreme (ie this alleged dog problem), unemployment rate, while it is tougher to get a gig than it was a decade ago.. everyone that i know that WANTS to work has a job.. point blank. but others are spot on things like the abandoned houses etc etc

I was at Texas de Brazil today when they did that hoe ass fleet drive of all the new emergency response vehicles....i swear these niggas dont think. 5 carjackings last night...wanna know why, because these niggas was gettin ready for this weak shit. I been home a week and already I can tell you:

1. Shit has gotten progressively worse for blacks.

2. White people are TAKING the city back.

3. Not enough black people care or know better to do better.

4. Seen more stray retard cats than I have dogs.

5. Southern Fires still bang.

#1: street lights are a privilege. The lights on my block flicker on and off throughout the night. I have seen blocks with no lights.

#2: hell yeah. Squatting is real, I've seen cats set up shop in abandoned houses too.

#3: police response has picked up because we got a new chief recently. Back in the day though the police wouldn't even show for some crimes and for others you would about a half hour.

#4: yes. Lots of abandoned houses on my block. I stay across the street from 4 of them.

#5: that depends on what you care about. The city doesn't have many amenities but its a good place for opportunity. I see people buying houses cheap, more folks I know are getting employed and staying in the city. Downtown is great (expensive though).

We got an awesome cultural district where the city's museums are, Wayne St University's main campus is there. So plenty of bars and restaurants in that area.
