Most of people on this site have no idea. Freestyle is defined as a rhyme with no form or format by the old skool cats. Off the dome is defined as a spontaneous or impromptu rhyme. So, the first problem with most in this post is they are once again lumping things together that don't belong together. I am not a big fan of off the dome rappers and I do not think it takes major skills to do that. All you have to do is always rap on the same cadence to be good at rhyming off the dome. It would seem that good freestyle rappers should also be good rappers because it can be written, but that is rarely the case. I doubt if Pac was good at either freestyles or off the dome and he was more intelligent than atleast 95% of rappers to ever get any mainstream recognition. Freestyle and off the dome are blown out of proportion

all the big name rappers Jay, Wayne Etc.. know that the cypher will only hurt them they aint built for that kind of thing(funny tho because they say they dont write so this should be cake for them) they scared and they know they will get outshined by no-names
