3 pro-bowls a few playoff wins, a NFC championship game, and a couple of QB records, all while not trying at all. Vick should have been starting.

tru_m.a.c;1278321 said:do not. i repeat do not compare aaron rodgers to fuckn kevin kolb. for starters my nigga A-Rod was a first rounder and if the 49ers weren't so dumb he woulda been the #1 overall draft pick.
The only comparison is that they are both qb's in the NFC

He ain't a good passer
Far from the best, but when the opposing team can't run a pass defense without still worrying about the QB running for big yards, you're gonna see some easier targets out there. If that doesn't happen, Vick can always call the bluff and run. These defenses aren't prepared to be constantly threatened with a big running play while at the same time the QB is dropping back to pass.
He only looked good because the Packers D spent all week studying Kolb
Fair enough, but don't forget the flip side. The Eagles offense spent all week preparing Kolb and the rest of the team for Kolb to the QB. Vick and the Eagles offense had to adjust as well, and they did a good job of it.
Vick isn't a quarterback. He's a runningback who takes direct snaps
Ok, well aside from this "runningback" rushing for over 100 yards in half a game, he also completed 16 of 24 (2/3rds) passes for a total of 175 yards. Meanwhile, Kolb completed only 5 of his 10 pass attempts (1/2) for a total of 24 yards. So if Vick "isn't a quarterback", what is Kolb?
Vick was never that great to begin with and The Eagles still lost
The Eagles were down 20-3, because Kolb couldn't find the endzone and Philadelphia's D were sufficiently matched that their ability to hold it close depended on reasonable offensive production. Vick came in and gave us a combined 278 yards, plus brought it down to a one score game. Your favorite QB is still unlikely to bring you the win if you start him off halfway through the game with a 3 score deficit. But yes, we lost, and in fact, the loss became a certainty when Vick was unable to convert short yardage fourth down on foot. No one talks about that bad play, but if it had been a bad pass that ended the Eagles chance of winning, everyone would be talking about "see that? vick can't throw.
Well, point is, you can talk all sorts of shit about Vick was never really that good, but in 2010, he looks pretty fuckin good to me and many others. I don't get where the hate comes from just because this guy has a lot of success rushing for big gains in passing plays. So what if he's running instead of passing. He's getting first down and putting points on the board.
This shit reminds me of 5th grade math class, when I was a wiz kid, so I ignored whatever formula to teacher was telling us to solve an equation, cause I could just figure out my own way and do the whole thing in my head. I got every answer right on my quiz using my own method and the teacher took points off cause even though my answers were right, I didn't "solve them the right way". Same thing here. Vick produces for the team, but people are mad that he doesn't use the traditional method.

Vick was brought in last season and hardly played never really given any shot at being the starter because Mcnabb was still there obviously. Mcnabb is traded and they still don't give him the oppurtinity to win the starting job, Kolb is given the job without any hesistation. Doesn't look great during preseason, Vick does justice with the second and third teams, still no shot. Kolb looks horrible in first half gets knocked out, Vick comes in with less reps in practice and almost wins it.
You can saw what you want about the Packers defense not being ready all you want for Vick, dude still looks like he can run an NFL team and be a starter in my eyes. If Kolb can go, then he has to start. Give him a couple more if need be, but they have a quality QB sitting on there bench with a chip on his shoulder. Rotting away because their head coach is an IDIOT.
Start Vick and save your job Andy.
